i wanted to draw my evil olimar AU again. i had some ideas for how the family relationships might work in this AU and also a small plot idea for Olimar to finally have one of his kids with him, which definitely will not traumatize the boy whatsoever

I am so, so, so curious about why Evil!Olimar and Evil!Louie are villainous space pirates ! What made them to be that way? : 0
so it's not set in stone yet but here's what i settled on so far
evil Olimar was working at a freight company just like in the games but after many years of service, the company downsized and he was among the dozens of workers who got laid off. this left Olimar deeply bitter, especially when he just couldn't find a new job. nobody wanted to hire him for his skills. eventually he got desperate enough to look on the intergalactic black market for offers to transport things other than just food or furniture. his no-questions-asked attitude about transporting hostages (and even the occasional corpse if it was a really grim pirate crew) got him a lot of permanent job offers with space pirates and eventually Olimar caved and accepted the least despicable seeming crew's offer, that being Chacho's crew. Over a few years he even started getting into it emotionally, developing his own evil laugh (that might have started shortly after his divorce) and dreaming of being not just the pilot, but the future captain of his crew
evil Louie's story is a lot simpler. being a troubled kid and struggling to fit in all his life, Louie had no problem with committing a number of petty crimes. he's really good at getting away with it too, being as silent and sneaky as he is in-game. but he has been caught from time to time. like that one time Chacho's crew discovered him getting away with food they had wanted to ransack from a space gas station first. impressed by his talents, and seeing his potential, Chacho offered him a spot on the crew. Louie only really said yes so he could keep doing what he wants without eventually going to jail
