Returning Home
It took a great deal of convincing for today to even be possible but in the end everything worked out in the Brit’s favor. There were but a few people who knew what was going on, and within the span of a few hours he found himself at a familiar grade school summoning Henry Mills out of class to the office. The young man having no idea why he was being called up to the office entered and questioned the receptionist who simply shrugged and gestured towards the wall. “Your father is here to pick you up.” Henry had nearly lashed out at her given he hasn’t a father but decided to turn to see who the impostor was first, and in the span of a split second he launched himself at the man.
“Hey buddy.” No matter how tall Henry may be he hauled the boy up off the ground hugging him tightly and being hugged tightly about the neck in return. “Missed you.” Henry sniffled at that, “Uh huh. We just snapped before I came to school this morning.” He knows what Robin meant but didn’t want to think about the sadness that had taken root within himself let alone his mother. “Are you back?” Henry leaned back searching the mans gaze. After seeing the smile accompanied by a succinct nod he whooped for joy then went back to hugging Robin tightly, and tossed Roland a wave when he spotted the mop of curls below.
Once they were at the house he talked their ears off about everything that they had missed but time was growing short. Regina would be home soon and they hadn’t figured out yet how they would surprise her. When the keys went into the front door Robin and Roland took off to Henry’s room and for good measure he stuffed Robin into the closet, and had Roland hide in the toy chest for now.
