So I’m not the best of writers, and I haven’t written anything for Ninjago in years, but I still hope you enjoy. So here’s my take on how they finally get Zane back. It’s not very long but I do hope you enjoy it. I tried though. Also hooray for no anxiety attacks while I wrote this!

“Zane!” A blonde-haired young boy shouted.
The familiar AI turned around, a slight smirk appearing on his face.
“Oh?” Zane turned around to face the young boy. “It’s a pleasure to see you again Lloyd.”
“Cut the crap, Zane.” Lloyd snarled. “We both know what you did to Jay wasn’t an accident!”
“Why would it be an accident?” Zane smirked.
“Why would you want to hurt one of your best friends, your brothers!?” Lloyd narrowed his eyes.
“Brothers? Is that what you call yourselves now?” Zane snarled, taking a few steps forward.
“Yeah! We care about you, Zane! You’re our brother! Do you not remember that?!” Lloyd took a few steps backwards. Zane could easily kill him. He got Jay so easily, he didn’t want to know what Zane might do to him if he caught him.
“Care about me? Don’t make me laugh.” Zane rubbed his temples. “You abandoned me! You left me to rot!”
“Why would we do that Zane?! Look through your data base! We would never do such a thing! We would never leave you behind…” Lloyd stepped back a few more times.
“You left me.” Zane hissed, grabbing his blade from his back. “Stop pretending that you didn’t.”
“How much blood will you shed until your happy, Zane?!” Lloyd snarled.
“Once you’re all dead, I’ll be happy.” Zane chuckled coldly.
“Will you though? Jay told us you were crying when you hurt him!” Lloyd yelled.
“Shut up.” Zane’s voice boomed.
Lloyd shrunk back, “Have we really lost you?”
“Lost me? You never had me.” Zane snorted.
When he swung his blade, Lloyd jumped out of the way. Something about this felt wrong, and it made him sick to his stomach. All he could do at the moment was dodge the katana Zane held. One wrong move and he could end up like Jay. He couldn’t stop to think, if he did, he was a goner.
“What, cat got your tongue?” Laughed Zane as he swung his blade again.
Lloyd said nothing as he dodged his ex-friend’s advances. He really was trying to kill him. Was there nothing left of their friend? No, there had to be something left, or else he wouldn’t have cried as he hurt Jay.
Lloyd gulped, “What about protecting others?! What happened to that?”
Zane froze in place, his mind working over time as he tried to find a response. Nothing came up. Nothing besides painful memories. Why was he doing this again? He began shaking.
“Zane?” Lloyd took a few steps forward. “Cole told me that last time he said something like that, you crashed… Zane, please listen…”
It was almost instinctual, the slash of the blade. Lloyd yelped as he was knocked down. He looked to his arms, his Gi was cut open and his arm was beginning to bleed. The red seeped into the green, dying it a muted color.
“Zane, please! You have to still be in there!” Lloyd pleaded.
Zane couldn’t think, there was nothing to say. There was nothing to do. Why was he doing this? He wanted to do this, didn’t he? But he was supposed to protect others! He was also supposed to follow Harumi and Garmadon’s commands.
Lloyd got up, holding his arm. “Zane…” He began to approach again. He had to try. “Zane, please…”
Another slash, this time Lloyd managed to dodge it. Once he was close enough, he threw his arms around Zane. “Come on, please…” They had him. He had Zane.
The katana clattered to the ground as Zane let out a shrill shriek. The feeling of his internal systems combating one another wasn’t a pleasant one. His eyes, despite already being dull, went out. His eye lids lowered as he crashed.
Lloyd yelped loudly at the sudden weight in his arms. “Zane!” Was Zane always this heavy? He didn’t know, but they had him now. He just needed to get him home. Then they would be home free. Then they just need to find out what’s wrong, and they’ll have their friend back, wouldn’t they?
