I just had this horrible realization that there are probably people within the Halo Universe who have never left their home planet in their entire lives - kinda like how Veta had never left Gao until she met the Spartans - except... some people don’t believe any other human colonies exist. Like flat earthers except... planetary. I can imagine the conversations going like this:

“Oh, Earth? You really think that place exists? That’s ridiculous, show me proof.” *shows them a picture* “Well that’s obviously photoshopped.”

“My brother’s an ODST stationed on a vessel just outside Earth’s orbit, he sent me this picture last week.”

“Bullshit, he found that off the internet. Next, you’re gonna say something dumb like Mars was actually made inhabitable.”

“Jesus fu- Mars has been inhabitable for the last four hundred years! WHAT CENTURY ARE YOU LIVING IN?!”
