Some guy on campus is handing out these terrible DVD's of a creationist accosting random students asking for evidence of evolution and not-so-subtly insinuating that Earnest Hemingway killed himself because he was an atheist. What should I do? I already have a picture of tiktaalik printed out and I am ready to rant.
Have you been convinced that evolution is wrong?
Allow someone who actually understands how science works to explain how we know evolution actually happened and why the Creationists' word "kinds" isn't even consistent with itself.
Better yet, watch it with your children before it's too late to prevent the lifetime of damage you're doing to them by teaching them Creationism.
He looked just like us
This weekend, I was flipping through Ken and Mally Ham's A is for Adam: The Gospel from Genesis (Spiral Bound). Now I make no bones on this blog about the fact that I am not a "biblical creationist", so you can imagine that I did not agree with a lot of the book. Still one thing struck me. I know that it is a children's book, but Adam is depicted as a white man with a beard and shoulder length hair. Then the book tells the reader that, "He wasn't a monkey, he looked just like us." I know that this is a children's book and I do not want to make the same mistake that some "biblical creationists" make when they take a children's book and try to make a mountain out of the author's attempt to simplify a subject (see Carl Kerby). I do not wish to argue whether man is a Homo sapien, hominid, or primate. What struck me was the phrase "he looked just like us". I discussed this briefly in a post, Contradictory Messages. Homo erectus Like Ray, the Hams believe that both individuals in this picture are fully human and I suspect they believe that both could have been what Adam looked like. It seems a little misleading for the authors to depict Adam as a Homo sapien who "looked just like us" when they also believe that he did not have to "look just like us."

An atheist's review of Ray Comfort's Evolution vs God. It's worth watching both Evolution vs God and this review, regardless of your stance. Keep open minds, right? ;) If you were as irritated as I was after watching Evolution vs God, check out "King Crocoduck vs Ray Comfort," a youtube video in which youtube user King Crocoduck actually approaches Ray Comfort and has a conversation about evolution with him. Ray Comfort unscripted. . . Well, you'll see. :D

I sat through a large portion of Ray Comfort's "Evolution Vs God" movie. While literally everything stated in that movie is false or flat out stupid, that doesn't bother me. What bothers me are that people cite Ray Comfort, and Kirk Cameron as sources for justification on particular points in argumentation. Ray Comfort asked "x" about "y" and they couldn't come up with an answer! therefore Ray Comfort is right!
For all you know Ray edited the answer out, it wouldn't be the first time.
Although the movie has garnered plenty of attention from the atheist community as is, I will submit myself as yet another person to relay questions to if you have any about the movie or the content within.
However if you're reading this as a creationist, and you plan on challenging myself or others, or even doing a bit of research and proving that Ray Comfort is right, and the atheists are wrong, I commend you.
I commend you for being smarter than Ray is. You know how I know you're smarter than he is? You're at least going to attempt asking valid questions and doing research.
