I have a whole lot of feelings about the "we should just let old people be bigoted assholes because they're old and we can't expect them to evolve" logic (hey, I bet you can guess what I think about that FUCKING ABSURD philosophy-- not only did you manage to make a condescending blanket statement that old people are barely animated pre-corpses devoid of the capability to continue to learn, but you also just gave carte blanche for dickishness to an entire generation of people who should be old enough to know how to act like a decent person)-- but if you have any doubt in your mind that this Duck Dynasty fool isn't a bigoted trainwreck douchebomb of atomic proportions, you should probably google direct quotes from some of the "sermons" he has presented around the country. Shit is indefensible.
Also, please note: having a higher tolerance for anti-LGBT bullshit than racist bullshit is nonsensical. If you would find it inappropriate for these disparaging remarks to be made about an ethnic group, then you should also find it inappropriate for them to be made about people with non-heterosexual orientations.
I have a lot of Christian friends who are among the best people I know and are mortified by this shit. But let's all stop pretending that "being a Christian" and saying, "Christianly", that "what you're doing is an abomination in front of the Lord and a disgusting perversion of humanity, BUT HEY, THE LORD WILL JUDGE YOU, NOT ME, I'M NOT JUDGING YOU, just passing on what the G man told me, not judging" is an acceptable way to act as a fucking human being.
