Some Evren thoughts for the class :]

Cells are echoey, we all know this, we all know every voice and every whisper and every anything will echo and echo, and with that- do you think when Evren speaks he hears Vespers voice? Do you think sometimes he'd close his eyes and whisper things she'd say because sometimes they sound the most alike when their quiet, and just- let the words echo around him, and of course its not exact- and maybe he can't tell if it hurts more that they sound similar or that they don't- but its.. enough.

And do you think that maybe, the further the parasite progresses, the more its not Vesper's voice he hears in his desperate ears. The more all he can hear is the parasite in everything he says, it has his voice, and its talking to him so often now, and.. he uses Evren's voice more then he does now. Evren speaks and its not him he associates his own voice with.

But, its someone, and Evren's always had such a hard time being alone, so maybe if his voice isn't his- then maybe he's never alone.

thinking about how Evren's real desperate fear of being alone- one he's never truly had to address before- because he's never been, (except in short bursts where he was torn from her side as he begged and begged before being plunged into water) he's always had a partner in crime, he's always had a sister to lean on, and that fear is what makes him so vulnerable to the parasite, because once separated from his brittle support system, once removed from his sister, Evren will latch onto anything else- he doesn't really have a choice, when its the only semi-positive interactions he has, an echo-chamber he can't escape, when its the only thing wanting to keep him safe, when its the only positive familiarity in this repeated hell,

Because the cell is so familiar, isn't it? To the jails and prisons he's been stuck in before breaking out- sure, but more then that too, most easily memorable when the cold sticky air of the underground hits and his lungs refuse and he can't breathe and, there's no water but its the same, cold walls keeping him in as he shivers and just wants anyone to save them, a stupid dream of someone so young, but at least it meant Vesper didn't have to go through this. And that was his only desperate grace, but that too wasn't much to a child who was just scared and just wanted to live. And he's older of course, and the desperate plea to keep Vesper as far away and safe as possible is only more tangible, because- Vesper is safe for now, maybe tentatively but if needed Vesper could run. And leave him behind.

But still when he chokes on air unfamiliar to his overextended lungs, he must fight to keep his eyes open, I mean after all- if he closes them, maybe there's nothing to keep him from being in another cell so far and so long ago.

And isn't that cruel? How Evren keeps finding himself in the same situations no matter how much has changed, because he's in them, and no matter how much he wanted to leave it behind, the past will always follow in the ghost of Evren's every action.

Anyway that was my word dump because I needed to spill my words about him like i needed a worm out of my brain <3 Saurians really do just gravitate towards what their used to huh, its such a shame he gravitated towards. Medical horrors inflicted onto him, and. Cells, surely he should see a therapist about that,,, do you think any therapists would be versed in normal therapy and worm therapy???

RARARAAAAAA okay so I'm normal, and am so normal, and normal and regular about Aura and also the worms (lying)

There's something about Nerves doing the actual Wormening while Irsa was standing there that's kinda tasty to me ngl, Irsa being so possessive but wasn't the one to actually Do It

Anyway Im so excited to see how this goes and I'm blinking so normally I think Aura should be allowed to be evil, as a treat

Spoilers for Starbound lore 9/4

So if Everen is dewormed how much is he gonna remember we know the parasite entered his system after the crash. Is he going to remember the crash or is everything gonna seem like some hazy dream. Is he going to wake up in the bunker with Asri standing over him and think he's been captured by C.O.I.L? I have thoughts about lore after tonight and I'm very much looking forward to Mondays stream.
