barbarian OR traitor by cemetery sex (or their whole album lowk haha but no actually 👀) they’re a deathrock band that got me into the goth subculture originally

for more ethereal stuff i recommend cocteau twins!! my fav album of theirs is treasure and my fav track is persephone (im such a basic bitch) i have it on cd, but i also rlly like head over heels (album) and four-calendar café (album). i find their albums to be really accessible bc ur not rlly supposed to understand what ur saying and they’re pretty sure, usually only 30-35 minutes long.

i guess for a more singer-songwriter sound i recommend fiona apple loml….right now im obsessed with left alone (song) by her but when the pawn… (album) truly when triple platinum in my house n i think its the best starting point for her

for pop hayley williams ego death at a bachelorette party. genuinely peak my faves on that album are the titular song, ice in my oj, mirtazapine, and parachute but i truly believe the whole album is a masterpiece.

ummm i dont rlly know their genre but magdalena bay is good too!! their songs image, top dog, and fear, sex are my favs from them

pj harvey is from the same time as fiona apple but had a much more extended discography. my fav songs by her are catherine, c’mon billy, anddd prob down by the water.

for industrial i would like to disclaim that i am not a rivet head and am sooo basic abt the genre, but i rlly like wish by nine inch nails, yoü by kmfdm, and assimilate by skinny puppy!! lecher bitch and guns are good by genitorturers are also rlly yummy

final rec i’d say kate bush never for ever (album). to me the standouts on that are the vry famous army dreamers, the weddling list, violin, and the infant kiss
