Golden Hook recs? WELL YES OKAY.

It has to be said this is basically a ghost ship. Despite the HUGE amounts of canon fan service it gets it has never really taken off. (Like, I am still trying to work out what Gold being inside the head of the woman Hook is sleeping with means for my ship.) I had a quick look on AO3 and not much has changed since I fell for it. Nevertheless it is my OUAT OTP (yep, even about SQ), and here are a tiny selection of recs.

The first fic I read in the pairing was the start of this series by @akaiba which I think of as the ur Golden Hook fics. They sold me on the idea for sure. All three are excellent.

I didn’t write the pairing myself for ages. I did a few drabble things of varying quality and then suddenly wrote a 50,000 WORD AU NOVELLA SET IN A VICTORIAN CIRCUS. Because, yes, that’s one way to do things. 

Anyway Being for the Benefit of Mr Gold is one of my favourite fics I’ve written, I am forever persuading people from other fandoms to read it. It is more me than any fic I’ve done. And I am still slightly obsessed with it. And it’s long. So read that.

I think Snape is a sympathetic character BECAUSE he's so fucked up. I can't not feel empathy for that, even if I think he's a total misdirected asshole.
