Growing up Adventist

I remember growing up as a kid I was never allowed to play soccer because most teams played on Saturdays. Growing up in a strict Adventist house it would have never been permitted. Anything if it was on a Saturday I was not allowed to go to which means I missed out on a lot of birthday parties. I will never subject my child to that. I will never make them feel isolated from the rest of the world because of a God that lives in a book of stories. I will shield them from the homophobia that Christianity brings, I want them to know that no matter who they grow up to be, as long as their not hurting others is okay. Jesus has left a bitter taste in my mouth
