Ex-Soldiers [John & Lightning]
John had just left the safe-house where he had left Jim to stay safe in search of some supplies. The place had been ransacked, there was hardly any food left, only enough for one of them. John was used to going without the meals, naturally, but he knew that if he didn't get something, eventually he was going to regret it. And he felt it was worth the risk, this area was one he knew to be relatively less active. He had his gun with him, of course, as he always did, but he wasn't too concerned about running into much in the way of danger.
As he went in search of another safe-house, or some abandoned store that might have food in it, he heard footsteps from behind him. He was about to turn his gun on whatever was behind him, but he noticed the footsteps were too coordinated to belong to one of the undead creatures. With his gun still down, John turned around to see a woman approaching him. Another survivor? Up until he saw Jim, he hadn't encountered many. But now they seemed more common. It was nice to see someone that didn't try to attack him. And as the woman got closer, he couldn't help but notice she was quite good-looking (a bit odd, with the pink hair and outfit, but it worked for her). He looked her over once, less subtle than he no doubt thought, then greeted her.
"Hello," he offered a friendly smile, "It's nice to see someone who looks more inviting for once."
