What the fuck is up with windows media player? It just doesn't display metadata any more so I've had to download seperate software, and even that has to trawl the internet for metadata, and yet my car CD player can tell me the track, album, and artist name and that thing's been in every car I've ever owned! It was fitted to a car my mum bought in like 2012! What data can it see that an actual computer can't?

exact audio copy is a really great piece of software for ripping CDs, especially those using obscure formats that have fallen out of favour. definitely gets my stamp of approval!

it has a bunch of features, including a really handy one to automatically detect and apply metadata, which is especially helpful for these ancient CDs that don't come with metadata by default

Thanks to both Winamp and VLC crashing when trying to deal with my CD (maybe because it is through a USB-adapter), I found Exact Audio Copy which is much better for what I wanted
