Two Sides of the Same Coin [ Atterria | Chrom ]
Since her recruitment, tiny fragments of her lost memory had returned to her though nothing too significant. Atterria had remembered minimal things like her favorite color, the month of her birth [though not the exact date], certain foods she liked and disliked, as well as her favorite past time. Unfortunately, that was where it ended, she still knew nothing of her past prior to being found by Chrom and joining the Shepherds.
The lack of knowledge bothered her to no end, and even though now she had a place to stay and was surrounded by so many great people [the only unpleasant individual being Lady Maribelle], Atterria still couldn’t make herself feel right at home. Many nights, when sleep eluded her as she lay in her bed, wondering who she was and where she came from or if she had any family. It was on nights like these that she would wander the hallways of the Shepherd’s headquarters which resided in one of the outer wings of the main Ylissean palace. These walks provided her with some peace of mind which then granted her the ability to return to her assigned chamber and rest for the night but not before spending some alone time in the indoor garden.
At such a late hour, only a handful of guards were up and about making their nightly rounds amongst the palace. It’d been nearly three weeks since the newly appointed tactician had accepted Chrom’s offer to join his ranks, and while she worried about his logic for doing so, she was more than happy to accept. She had no real purpose in life, so when Chrom presented her with one, she vowed to both herself and to him that she would give it her all. She swore her loyalty to him and promised to give him nothing but her absolute best.
Atterria’s steps came to a complete stop as she paused by right before the garden’s glass doors; past it lay the indoor garden she had frequently visited almost nightly. A figure sat in one of the benches, illuminated only by the moonlight of the full moon that shown through the roofless area. In the present light, Atterria was able to make out the familiar silhouette of the prince who so kindly and graciously taken her into his home.
Her steps commenced once more, as she pulled open one of the glass doors and stepped outside, letting the door carefully shut behind her. She was greeted with by the cool night air as it made contact with her exposed flesh. The tactician quickly pulled her hood over her head, securing the front part of her coat tightly so keep the breeze out.
“Chrom?” she called out softly but loud enough for him to here. “Is everything alright?” She asked as she approached the seated figure, a hint of concern in her voice. “It is unlikely for you to be up at such a late hour…” Her eyes remained soft but full of curiosity as she finally stopped before him, “is something troubling you?”
