Fucc Yes!! 😭🎉

My math teacher had us vote for the math exam date between somewhere in December 2022, February 2023 or March 2023.

I was hoping so much everyone would NOT vote for December again (because the past years most students preferred that time frame for some stupid reason). But March 2023 won!!! I am so relieved that I don’t have to power study through one month again. I was already beginning to panic thinking we will have to go for December again.

Studying for my last math exam ever (hopefully) might be not the best timing to realize I could have undiagnosed dyscalculia.... lol.......

Never thought it’s possible because I didn't really know what this is about. And I always managed to somehow get through math even with the worst grades.... with intense study periods and tutor help.

But with the whole realization that I am neurodivergent and now again realize how much I rely on visual aids and memory hooks in math, and how much I struggle with numbers because numbers just feel like ‘empty containers’ I actively have to assign visuals and meaning to (I do have synesthesia as well, but that’s not helpful with math)... and I basically forget it all so fast again. I thought, well one of my classmates has dyscalculia and she still managed to get into university in the same class as me... so it is not impossible to have this and study... maybe I should check it out?

Just did an online test and it does say there are clear indications.

At least there are math topics I can visualize in my head which makes them doable. Like some parts of statistics, theory of probability and geometry. Which are ironically topics a lot of math nerds I know struggle with. (@ people with a diagnosis how do you do with those topics?).

I am just glad we are allowed to use our notes in this exam and I rewrote the whole damn script into my own version -> means it’s basically a colorful step by step instruction with a lot of little side notes. But I am totally fucced when the prof brings problems that are a new constellation or a combination of multiple problems (which is always my downfall with this prof).

I am kinda addicted now to “walking / driving videos”. Since I watched so many the past weeks to calm down during work and anxiety. Those videos are just so comfortable and aesthetically pleasing~ the sounds, the visuals. All while you sit warm and cozy at home.

I have them on my second screen while working.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my parents always drove me around in the car whenever I wouldn’t sleep as a baby. Apparently I calmed down and slept real quick in the car. I still zone out when I drive around (not as driver of course lol).
