Andy & Aidynn releases first full-length collaborative album 0013: Reload

CHARM’s Andy and Aidynn have dropped their first full-length collaborative album! Andy and Aidynn previously worked together on a mini-album titled 0013 in 2019. Each have been active as members of CHARM and as individuals since then. Andy has branched out into variety and acting, and also made his solo debut last summer with an album of his own, while Aidynn has remained focused on music, also making his solo debut with an album earlier this year. Last week, the teased the content of their new album with the pre-release track “Home Is Far Away”.

The pair’s first full-length album attaches itself to their previously released mini-album with the title 0013: Reload. 0013: Reload takes the sound the pair established in their first collaboration as well as the niches they’ve formed for themselves in solo music and expands on and beyond them. The album begins with the declarative “Return Of The Kings” and traverses through genres from 90s hip hop to minimalist trap beats and with attitudes from the braggadocio of “Zutter” to the honesty of tracks like “People Scare Me”. Several features appear on the album, including Unity’s Jaewon, Yul, and Sunghee, Origin’s Max, Knight’s Haon, and CHARM’s Dowoon. All but the latter are credited among the lyricists on the songs they featured on, while Andy and Aidynn contributed to the lyrics of all of the songs and have various composition and production credits throughout.

Hip hip track “Zutter” will serve as the promoted single off of the album. Written, composed, and produced by the pair, “Zutter” sits fourth in the album’s track list.  “Zutter will be promoted on music shows until June 9 and b-side track "Okey Dokey” will also be staged for the first week of promotions.

Andy & Aidynn release “Home Is Far Away ft. Dowoon” ahead of collab album release

A week before the release of their first full-length collaboration album, CHARM’s Andy and Aidynn has dropped the album’s pre-release single “Home Is Far Away” which features their groupmate, CHARM’s performance unit leader Dowoon. “Home Is Far Away” is an introspective exploration of loneliness. The music video opens with Dowoon’s vocals lamenting the weight of the world over the imagery emphasizing the loneliness of the city. Andy and Aidynn wrote and composed the track. Andy and Aidynn’s full-length album 0013: Reload will be released May 27.

Andy releases comeback solo single “Crooked″

CHARM’s main rapper Andy has made his solo comeback with the release of a new single! Andy made his solo debut in June of last year with his first full-length solo album Narcissus. “Crooked”, his new single, is an anthemic pop punk track about acting out, or acting “crooked”, to cope in the face of heartbreak. The music video was filmed in London and the song’s punk influences are alluded to through Andy’s styling. Andy wrote the song’s lyrics and also helped in part with composing the song. He will promote “Crooked” on music shows for three weeks.

The February issue of Madame Figaro MODE China features a cover star in CHARM’s Andy. Shot in Seoul, the photo spread gives a sophisticated feeling catering to the magazine’s female based audience, with pictures overlooking the Han River, opened grand doorways, and a gentle, congenial aura to Andy’s styling.

As Andy’s first solo cover of a magazine, as well as one based in China, part of the interview focuses in on Andy’s first acting role in a feature film release this January. In You Are My Sunshine, Andy played William, the personal assistant to the film’s male lead. Discussing the role, Andy tells the interviewer about the character work he’d done to make William seem as realistic as possible within the confines of his short screen time, even going so far as to flesh out William’s entire life story. Asked about acting as a new career path, Andy describes having felt like a second calling had come to him, after that of being a CHARM member. The interview ends with Andy cheering on any of his members that are, or would like to, act in the future.

Andy releases first solo album “Narcissus″

CHARM’s Andy has dropped his first full-length solo album! In addition to the album pre-release track, “Give It To Me”, that was released last week by BC Entertainment, Andy has previously released a number of collaborations with other idols in the industry. With the release of his solo album Narcissus, Andy follows in the footsteps of member Dai as the next member from his group to make a solo debut.

Narcissus spans a number of topics and emotions through its eleven song track list. With its bold declaration of “I Am Me” via the first track, the album progresses by seemingly stripping away layers of Andy’s psyche as the songs begin to tackle topics like mental health and therapy in the second half. The album includes a number of star-studded features: Gal.actic’s Yena, Origin’s Joohwan, 7ROPHY’s Lux, fellow CHARM member Aidynn, Unity’s Jaewon, soloist Lia, and WISH’s Vivienne. Andy contributed to the lyrics of all songs on the album, either in part or in full, and also has several composition credits throughout the track list. Andy also helped to produce the tracks “Push Me” and “Counselor”, and Aidynn and Jaewon contributed to the lyrics of their collaboration, ‘Push Me”.

"I Am Me”, which features Gal.actic’s Yena, will serve as the promoted single off of the album. “I Am Me” recalls old school hip hop as Andy (with the help of Yena) declares the merits of being oneself and ignoring the criticism and expectations of others. The song will be promoted solo for a month on music shows, and b-side track “Peach” will be staged solo for the first week of his music show promotions.

Andy releases “Give It to Me” ahead of solo album release

A week before the release of his debut solo album, CHARM’s Andy has dropped the album’s pre-release single “Give It to Me”. “Give It To Me” is a hard-hitting rap track with a relentless instrumental to accompany Andy’s declarations of his own success and greed for more. The pre-release sees Andy break out of his usual idol bubble as a member of the boy group CHARM, known for rising to success through their boy next door image and leaves listeners guessing at what new sides of his image Andy’s solo debut will show. Andy is credited as one of the lyricists and one of the composers of the track.

Andy & Aidynn release collaborative album “0013”

CHARM members Andy and Aidynn have dropped a collaborative mini-album. The mini-album, titled 0013, is the first time the two CHARM members have collaborated outside of their group’s discography, although Andy and Aidynn have both released other collaborations in 2019.

0013 is a bass-pumping, high energy rap album from track one to five, straying from the pairs “Adore U” days for a more edgy sound. Other idols, namely Origin’s Prophet and CHARM members Sirius and Yuanjun make an appearance on the track list as features. Andy and Aidynn both makes appearances as lyricists, composers, and producers at various points throughout the album’s credits, along with Prophet and Sirius being credited as lyricists on their respective songs.

The title track of the album is “Hit Me”, which features Origin’s Prophet, is a vibrant party track. In the music video, Andy and Aidynn venture out for a spontaneous and contagious night on the town. Andy and Aidynn will be promoting the song for two weeks on music shows and b-side track “Ain’t No Party Like an AOMG Party” will also be staged as an auxiliary stage for the first week of promotions.

Moon & Andy release collaborative album “Sleepless in ______”

Alien’s Moon and CHARM’s Andy have dropped a collaborative album, titled Sleepless in ______! The album is released credited to the collaborative name of Rap Academy. This is Moon’s first music release outside of his group and Andy’s second collaborative project.

Sleepless in ___ has a personal and somber tone throughout, from the eerie phone assistant voice opening the album with “Sleepless” to the distant rolling voice of moon in “Lullaby For A Cat” that closes the album out. Andy and Moon are both listed across the entire track list as members of the creative team on the album, and both rappers have a hand in the lyrics, composition, and production of songs. Three of Andy’s labelmates make features on the album. Lipstick’s Hyeju lends her vocals to track two “In Seoul”, Knight’s Taeyong appears on “Lovedrunk”, and WISH’s Vivienne can be heard on the fifth track, “No Different”.

“Lovedrunk”, the title track of the album, begins as a piano ballad featuring Knight’s Taeyong before opening into a steady rap that stars the main artists of the track, first Moon, and then, later in the song, Andy. The music video is a black and white martial arts mini-drama. Moon and Andy will be promoting the song for a week and b-side track “Eternal Sunshine” will also be staged as an auxiliary stage.
