Grisha as a Magic

One of the things I really appreciate about the grishaverse is how the magic works for the people using it.

There are so many stories, where the protag actually has big powerful magic, but is not allowed to use it until the last minute crisis. I really love that grisha’s using their power actuallly makes them happier and healthier. That it’s a part of themselves, that they need to use. The complications that actually brings, if you need to hide your powers, are fascinating.

Like I understand the big ‘power is precious and not limitless‘, but it’s kinda annoying to be honest. You have power and you can’t even use it, neither for good nor for bad. And I mean, I’m not objecting to people having limits. Grisha do get tired after using their powers. It’s their overall physical health and emotional state that improve. You can make it so that people do not have unlimited magical fire at their disposal, without them needing to act like a paranoid hoarder in a video game, who may need this item and the 99 others in a surprise secret boss fight after the game credits role.

Also just the whole Juris teaching thing, where he goes on about grisha restricting what they could achieve with their orders and labels... it’s just uplifting to read, guys.
