My brother was complaining about cartoon saloon "becoming political" last night.
Cartoon Saloon. The breadwinner, Cartoon Saloon. Cartoon Saloon the studio that made the Breadwinner. Is getting political. Just now.
Been drawing my stupid little Oc´s lately.
Ive had them for 10 years now and I love them so much.
Smári is a grumpy wizard. Elías is his assistant/apprentice. Freyja is a wild elf and Elias best friend. They share Smári as a reluctant parental figure.
Ans Smári is kinda in a polyamorus relationship with their neighbours. ❤️
(Translation)
“PLEASE can Freyja live with us this winter!? Otherwise she’ll die from pneumonia!”
-“Kid, have you lost your mind?! Freyja is a feral animal!”
“PLEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!”
reading Midnight Strangers (or from what I can tell, a main component of the Scarian Bible) for the first time
On ch 10
I had to stop multiple times throughout 9 so I could emotionally process and recover (the jellie scene actually fucking broke me and I had to go and hunt down my own cat to pet for emotional comfort)

man i sure want whatever the hell these freaks have
while I’m hating looks in the finale- I’ve got bones to pick with how both Robin AND Nancy were styled
I won’t say much for Robin bc lots of people have covered that but Nancy…
Let me preface this by saying I don’t think either of them look bad(although Nancy lowkey looks as middle aged as her little brother oop) they both look pretty BUT I don’t like the messages their styles are sending also Robin should have gotten Nancy's outift or something similar-
One of the things I always loved about Nancy was her femininity. They depict her as a badass, girlboss in every season but she's shown to still love dresses and pink and styling her hair, doing her makeup. She's shown to love all of that even in season 5 before the epilogue in the scene between Jonathan and Nancy where he talks about throwing away her favourite pink sweater. Which is something he would never do btw. The point is they estabilish that she can be a badass and strong while still being feminine and caring about her looks. That is such an important and valuable message to give young girls. It's okay to want to feel pretty, it's okay to dress nice, do your hair, wear makeup, wear pink. You would still be strong. You would still be cool and smart. That's the message I got from Nancy pre-epilogue.
I read a post once about Max looking up to Nancy because while Max isn't traditionally feminine she watches Nancy embrace all these things and still be perceived as strong and taken seriously. Same with El, honestly maybe even more with El. Nancy would be such a good mentor/older sibling figure for El. Omg we were robbed of that, think Robin/WIll, Steve/Dustin dynamics. Anyways, seeing Nancy presented this way is so empowering. If they had kept that going with the finale, it would have been so nice to see:")
Instead, in the finale we get Nancy in a suit. We get her with short hair that matches her moms despite saying she doesn't want to end up like her parents. The message that I'm taking from this is you need to let go of the pink and the frills and the dresses to be taken seriously. To be a girlboss, badass, independent, to be strong. All of that needs to go. Which is just such a terrible message. Not to say outgrowing the pink is a bad thing, you don't have love these things to be feminine but for a character that's so heavily shown as loving these things to suddenly leave them all behind in the epilogue just doesn't sit right with me. For a character whos femininity is tied to these things. She should have been in a dress. Or a nice blouse and skirt/jeans. Her hair should have been styled better-
I don't know maybe I'm reading too much into this(I probably am lol) but I was honestly really disappointed when I saw Nancy's epilogue look. And as someone that looked up to her a lot, the way she was styled lowkey felt like a personal attack.
Don't even get me started on Robin😭😭 That's a whole other mess.
Why do the writers hate women?
AGAIN I'M NOT SAYING SHE LOOKS BAD, I DON'T THINK THAT AT ALL !! BOTH ROBIN AND NANCY LOOK REALLY PRETTY !! And I'm not saying to be feminine you need to like pink and dresses and makeup! I'm saying that's how they portrayed Nancy in the show up until the epilogue. To have her lose all of that is a disservice to her character.
