Jaein releases second solo mini-album “Tiger Eyes″

Lucid’s Jaein has dropped her second solo mini-album! Jaein made her solo debut last summer with her mini-album Don’t Make Me Laugh. In the time since her last solo promotions, Jaein did a stint as the host of KBS radio program Music Plaza, released a Portal collaboration with Unity’s Jaeyeol, and did work as the face of K2 and Laneige, the latter of which is still an ongoing partnership. Lucid recently ended promotions of their latest comeback “Fingertip”.

The album, titled Tiger Eyes after its promoted track, begins with a minute-long mostly instrumental introduction in the form of “Be Cautious”. The upbeat techno tune leads into “Tiger Eyes” through to “CALL BACK”, a moodier track influenced by popular lo-fi hip hop stylings. The back half of the mini-album keeps to chill, indie-inspired beats with “42=“ and “NA, NI”, while “Lullaby (zz)” ends the mini-album on a soft, jazzier take on, as the title suggests, a lullaby.

The mini-album’s title track “Tiger Eyes”, written and composed by Unity’s Jaewon, eschews the bright pop of Jaein’s solo debut to allow the singer to venture into new territory with a track relying more strongly on subtle intensity.  “Tiger Eyes” will be promoted for three weeks on music shows and b-side track “42=” will also be staged for the first week of promotions.

Jaein and Jaeyeol release Dimensions Portal song “Ride”

Lucid’s Jaein and Unity’s Jaeyeol has released a new collaboration through Dimensions’ extension of the Portal digital music project! This is the first time the two members of Dimensions Entertainment’s juniormost groups have collaborated. Their digital single, “Ride”, is a laidback R&B take, with Jaein taking charge on the vocals for the first half of the song before Jaeyeol comes in with a more stripped-back verse. The music video channels the feeling of a late summer roadtrip with friends.

Jaein releases first solo mini-abum “Don’t Make Me Laugh”

Lucid first earned the public’s attention last year with the release of “Me Gustas Tu” and the viral video of them performing the song on a wet stage that followed. Since then, some of the members of Lucid have begun to earn attention in their own right, including leader Jaein who has begun to get her feet wet with appearances on Running Man and as a panelist on King of Mask Singer. She’s now branching out even further by making her solo debut with the mini-album Don’t Make Me Laugh.

Don’t Make Me Laugh is an appropriately upbeat and light album for the beginning of summer. Though Lucid is known for their dual concepts, Jaein’s solo debut channels the brightness of their most successful releases but explores a more pop-infused sound than Lucid has yet to do. Jaein dips her toes into some R&B with “How We Do”, which features Unity’s Soo, and a more tropical sound with “Nobody”, featuring Unity’s Jaewon who is also credited as one of the lyricists. Jaein slows the pace down for the album’s end, “Worry About Nothing”.

“Don’t Make Me Laugh”, the title track, is a bubbly track about the feeling of being on the verge of falling for someone. The music video embraces the summer season and Unity’s Jaewon appears as Jaein’s love interest. "Don’t Make Me Laugh” will be promoted for three weeks on music shows and b-side "Do You Miss Me?” will also be staged for the first week of music show promotions.

[NEWS] Dimensions Entertainment confirms Jaein solo debut

Dimensions Entertainment has confirmed that Lucid’s leader Jaein will be making her solo debut with a mini album. When asked about the concept, they commented that they cannot give specific details just yet, but that it will be a refreshing sound fit for the summer. This debut will mark Jaein as the second member of Lucid to go solo, following her group member Jeonghwa.

Lucid has been busy since their rise last year with “Me Gustas Tu” and “Rough” and made their latest comeback in April with the title track “You and I”.

The mini album is said to be released in July.

This month's cover star for Nylon Korea is Lucid's Jaein. The girl group member is photographed sporting a summer look with vivid colors to fit her youthful and energetic image. Nylon Korea has also released a short clip that shows the sketch of the shoot.

In her interview, Jaein talks about the responsibilities that come with being the leader of Lucid along with the many opportunities she gets individually as well. "I'm always thankful for the chances that I'm given by both Dimensions and others within the industry. It continues to motivate me to work harder and harder each day," the girl group member shares.

Idol Dictation Contest, a spin-off of tvN's Amazing Saturday: Doremi Market, has announced that Lucid's Jaein will join the main cast. Having guested on Amazing Saturday: Doremi Market before, the producer of the show stated that her bright ears and positive energy was a joy to work with, thus why she was brought up during the casting process and eventually chosen.

Meanwhile, Jaein has just wrapped up “Love Whisper” promotions with her group Lucid and was a part of Olive's Everyone's Kitchen earlier in the year. She is currently also the face of Laneige and Keds.

With the release of a commercial, Keds has announced Lucid's Jaein as the newest face of their brand. In the video, Jaein is seen on a summer outing in the park while sporting the classic Keds look. Along with the commercial, Keds released a statement that "Jaein's youthful image and refreshing energy" was a perfect fit to their brand.

Meanwhile, Lucid is in the middle of promoting their latest title track "Love Whisper" and Jaein was recently part of the program Everyone's Kitchen as a main cast member. She is also currently the face of Laneige.

Dimensions Entertainment has confirmed that Lucid’s Jaein will be joining the main cast of Olive’s upcoming variety show, Everyone’s Kitchen. The show is described as a social dining program where people who have never meet one another gather together to share their special recipes.

Jaein will be the youngest fixed cast member to join the show. Upon the announcement of Jaein’s addition, the main producer stated that he picked the girl group member after tuning into KBS Music Plaza in which Jaein was the host for up to last month. “Jaein’s positive energy and her ability to connect with people of all ages convinced me that she’d be a good addition to the show.”

The first episode is to air on April 18 at 7:40PM.
