A MICHELIN STAR CHEF IN DEEPEST SOMERSET
Michelin Accolades For A Young Chef
Josh showed his talent early on in 2003 by winning the Gordon Ramsay College scholar competition. He then went on to hone his skills by travelling the world – especially in the USA, Italy and France. He’s one of the youngest Michelin-starred chefs around and has always had a passion for food.
Isn’t he the kind of chef you’d like to cater for your exclusive event?
You choose the food you want at your party – have a heart to heart discussion with Josh beforehand to say what you like and what you’d like to offer. Josh will adapt your favourite dishes to suit you. For an ‘amuse’ you could present your guests with a Spider Crab Soup with Chilli or a Foie Gras Torchon with Pear & Ginger Chutney.
We make it a point to source locally produced ingredients which add that special dimension to your dinner or lunch.
But what does a Michelin star mean?
Anonymous reviewers visit restaurants and award stars on the basis of quality, the chef’s mastery and the consistent excellence of the food. One Michelin star denotes a very good restaurant – whereas three stars show that the cuisine is exceptional.
A Michelin star has no bearing on the décor of a restaurant or its location or even the service – it is purely awarded on the quality of the food. However we like to think that our surroundings are worthy of their own Michelin star – should such a thing exist. The Manor is a beautiful, old stone building with a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that envelops you from the moment you arrive on the gravel driveway.
We are situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and we take advantage of sourcing our produce from Somerset, Devon and Cornwall – whether it’s beef, fish or organic home-grown vegetables.
We may be secluded, tucked away in the Somerset countryside and it might be amazing to think that a Michelin starred chef works somewhere so quiet. But we have a culinary wizard waiting to cook just for you and your friends. We can’t wait to introduce you to Josh’s delectable food.
Our diners have told us that they think Josh’s cooking for The Manor should be awarded three Michelin stars. That would be an accolade indeed. At the risk of sounding boastful, we are rapidly becoming known in London as the ‘must go to’ exclusive use country manor house – whether you’re looking for a venue for a birthday, anniversary, corporate entertaining or an exclusive wedding.
So isn’t it time you paid us a visit?
