So Croft gets some more characterization:
Croft giving a warm smile? It's pretty jarring compared to the cold hearted woman we saw in S1.

Ideas for names and altmodes in my Earthspark human<-->cybertronian species swap AU?
Dot would be a tank. She used to have a visor, battlemask, and camouflage paint during the war but stopped wearing them and got a new paintjob after she quit. Her prosthetic leg is a metal bar that ends with claw toes, while her other foot is more "normal" and doesn't have toes. Because she lost a whole leg, the tank probably has a huge gap where the armor is missing. Idk what her name should be, "Dot" is a word but I kind of want to distinguish everybody's names from their canon counterparts.
Alex's name could be Alexandrite. Idk altmode.
Robby or Mo could be a motorcross bike because of the bicycles (and Rocinante)? Or maybe minicons, still close to the terrans' heights? I can only think of a name for Mo, Slo-Mo, and I don't even know if that's good.
Schloder, idk name or altmode. Maybe an FBI style pickup or van? Has a visor.
Croft is Schloder's twin but doesn't look like him at all. Still turns into some kind of a government car though. Idk her name either.
Mandroid could have a spider or spider-like altmode because of the arachnamechs, but I'm not sure if that's a good idea of how to avoid him looking too similar to Tarantulas. I don't know what kind of a vehicle he would be if he was a vehicle... His name would be "(Something) Atlas" to retain the map reference and because some cybertronians have latin names, but idk what word to put in front of "atlas". Ideas?
Don't ask me how the plot works, still working on that.
A quick analysis of the Breakdown/Bumblebee escape sequence from Earthspark
Quick context: the way I read them is more of the “we’re calling them brothers like how spop had to call catradora sisters to explain the levels of affection they have for each other and to throw off the scent of the homophobes so therefore they are gay” way. That being said.
1) Breakdown could have put his hand anywhere. ANYWHERE on Bee to push him out of the way. Instead, he puts his hand in the softest way possible on Bee’s chest - where his insignia is - where the symbol that drove them apart is stamped in a red that sets itself apart from the yellow and black of Bee’s paint job. People literally talked about this, had conversations, and approved the boards and final animations. He could have shoved him at the shoulder, or anywhere else but no. They chose his chest for a REASON.
2) The diversion scene - Breakdown is not only taking all of those stupid laser blasts, including Croft’s supercharged blasts - while being faster than Bumblebee. And we see Bee accelerating as Breakdown pulls further and further ahead. This tells me two things. One. Bee knew he would lose, but agreed to the bet with Breakdown in the trailer anyways because he would rather see him safe since he doesn’t have the same support system Bee has, and two, Bee’s entire goal of finding and racing Breakdown was to make sure he was safe and he was willing to give up ever seeing him again if it meant he would be able to evade GHOST.
3) The way Breakdown sounded when he first revealed himself, as mentioned by another post on here, was that he sounded afraid. Breakdown was terrified of being taken in, but didn’t want that to happen to Bee because he knew what GHOST had in store was both inhumane and awful. So he took the fall and dove straight into the line of fire. And you can hear the desperation in his voice as he reaches out because he knows it’s a last-ditch effort for one of them to escape to safety.
4) Bee’s look of shock and terror as Breakdown disappears under the bridge, injured, unable to transform, and surrounded by agents is heartbreaking. He just lost one of the parts of home closest to him - a friend from BEFORE the war. Remember, this isn’t someone he befriended during the war, they were torn apart by it. And they were able to keep up their little game of drag racing together until now, when the war took them apart again - potentially forever.
Also i just want to add yes I am subscribed to the headcanon that knockout is still here and that yes all three of them have two hands. Bee can have some boyfriends. As a treat. He’s been through a lot and needs love.
The disdain Croft and Mandroid had for each other was so blatant every time they interacted. And the show really expects me to believe Croft mentioned her daughter's nickname to him? Or the fact she even had a daughter? Bullshit!
Prowl could've been such an interesting element in S1. Some possibilities:
-Educating the Terrans about the War and especially Megatron because he'd 100% have an issue with how ignorant they are.
-Being in a secret alliance with Croft to try and kill Megatron. Obviously he doesn't trust Croft, but he's pissed at OP with how he's handling the exwarlord.
-Investigate the weird shit happening around Witwicky along with Schloder and eventually realize that there's a connection with Mandroid and Croft
-He'd be pissed about getting partnered with Schloder for missions but the two grow to respect each other.
Mandroid is of course a bastard, but the scene when he's telling Olive how nicely Croft treated him...
He was probably reminiscing about brutally killing her for treating him like shit.
My biggest issue with Olive being Croft's daughter is that it makes no sense for what we've seen of Croft's character. She's cold hearted and a control freak. The closest thing we got as a soft moment for her was Schloder barely managing to convince her to not arrest Dot and Alex in Security Protocols. Yet Schloder describes her to Olive as this loving girlboss figure. Techincally she should be more like Mother Gothel from Tangled.
Headcanon that there's a black market for TF tech in Witwicky. I mean there's a freaking government agency in town, there's definitely a shady criminal thing going on somewhere. Bonus that Croft is involved in said black market because she's controlling like that.
Now that I think about it, Croft could easily be some sort of mob boss in an AU.
