And now, because I've got to know the tracks pretty well, I mouth along, headphones in, as I cross-trainer away. The trouble is, it's Broadway tunes. Today,the only cross-trainer free was right at the front of the gym, by what looked to little ol' blind me like an empty wall. So I get exercising away, headphones in, mouthing along, when I realise that the point I've been performing to isn't wall at all, it's a black blob that, when I put my glasses back on, turns out to be the security camera. The camera feed goes to front desk, so they can monitor people remotely, and keep an eye in case something goes wrong, and I realise that I've been staring at it the whole time.
Essentially, for the last 45 minutes or so, the people monitoring front desk have been watching me stare down a camera, eyes wild, face flushed, a fixed grin on my face, mouthing furiously along to Newsies.
To be honest, I'm surprised they didn't call the police on me. I must have looked possessed.
