Idk if this is kind of a dumb idea, but imagine Patton at first thinking he just really likes the color yellow. It’s a happy, cheerful color, and he always does his best to be a happy, cheerful side so, for him, it makes sense that whenever he’s around Janus he feels real happy! Janus might wear a lot of other yellow garments when not in his usual attire, some more casual-wear, and whatnot. So as Patton continues to spend more and more time with Janus, he’s still convinced the joy he feels around him is in association with the color.
But eventually, reality strikes him. Patton doesn’t love the color yellow; he loves Janus.
What character do you struggle writing the most, and why?
Personally, I have the hardest time writing Patton. As much as I adore his character, I often worry I’m not getting him quite right, never know where to place the “kiddos”, and I’m terrible at coming up with puns so I have to utalize pun websites quite a lot.
I think I’m gonna title my upcoming intrulogical oneshot “Shake the Lightning from the Locks of Your Unbound Hair,” because I cannot stop listening to the song “Running Towards a Place” from the killers new album, Imploding the Mirage, and that’s a lyric from it. Also long haired Logan rights, my dudes! I feel like Remus really wanting to play with and braid Logan’s hair is a really sweet thing to think about, too.
For the DVD commentary ask meme! I loved that part in Hideaway and it would be cool to learn more about it from you!
I’m putting everything below the cut because this runs a little long
I’m glad to see someone was interested in this ask meme because I think this one’s really cool, so thanks, Mim! (I’m also super down to do more of these if people want to send more in!)
Alrighty, so getting right into this, I thought it was important for Logan to mention the fact that none of the other sides were aware of the fact that he’d been impersonated by Janus because, ouch, am I right? As much as I adore Janus, he has impersonated Logan multiple times now, and I think at the very least that’d be a bit of a sore spot for Logan (but in actuality, it’s probably a lot worse than he lets on).
Roman’s response serves up some of that classic Roman AngstTM because he’s an incredibly angsty boy and I absolutely believe as the prince, he would think it was his duty to protect the others from the likes of Janus and the other dark sides. And since Logan has brought up the fact that none of them, including Roman, had noticed he’d been impersonated, he sees it as Logan calling out his failings.
Logan’s response to Roman claiming he wasn’t ‘strong enough’ provides some much-needed comfort. It’s no secret that Logan struggles greatly with issues of emotion, however, seeing Roman in such distress and feeling as though he’s failed is something that deeply upsets him, and that he wants to put to rest. He pauses when he says “I came here because I was… concerned,” because it’s so hard for Logan to come out and say a thing of such vulnerability (I love putting Logan in emotionally vulnerable situations because I love to torture him - I swear it’s out of love!)
Of course, Roman deflects, claiming that he’s fine and that he’s okay on his own, but Logan isn’t having any of it. He’s struggling, but Logan’s trying so hard to be there for Roman and get him to talk about what’s going through his head. Logan knows feelings are by no means his expertise, but he still wants to do what he can to help Roman. And god damn it, he sure is gonna try!
