I wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to write this, but I think it is very important to talk about it. And if my writing helps you a little, I will try to support you in any way I can. Weirdo. Freak. Lunatic. Slow. Those are some of the things I’m called everyday. They might sound terrible but they aren’t as bad as the other things they also call me. But nothing compares to the way they treat me, the way they look at me. As if I weren’t human. But I am human, just like they are. 

It didn’t matter where I went, they would bully me or give me that pity look. Why? I used to ask myself everyday, why me? What’s wrong with me? I used to hate myself, used to blame everything on me. But why? Why am I the one at fault? Why would I be wrong if this is simply who I am. I also used to want them to change, want them to see how they were going to hurt me. But instead I only hurt myself more. People only see the differences, but I started focusing in the things we shared. It took me ages but I managed to survive, managed to see the beauty in them and in myself.

But I didn’t do it alone. I had them.  And still have them. 

The words didn’t stop, the looks didn’t change. But I stopped listening, I stopped caring. I met them when I wasn’t able to give myself the love I deserved. But they didn’t care if I was different, they simply treated me like I was one of them.  “How was school?”- Junmyeon would ask me the moment I walked by the door. “You know, boring as always”. He would smile as Chanyeol would give me a welcome home hug. “High school is a jungle, isn’t it? At least it will be over soon”. And he was right, but the truth is that it stopped feeling that way after they came into my life. They gave me hope. 

Someone told me once that I would never have friends and yet here I am. With twelve boys that opened the world for me. Knowing that they would be waiting for me at home, was enough for me to go and do all those activities I used to hate. I didn’t matter how hard or complicated, everything changed when I understood that there were others who had my back. 

“So we were thinking...” Baekhyun continued as I walked into the dinning room. “Since holidays are close... it would be nice for you to come this us”. They all smiled and looked at me while waiting for my answer. “Where to?” I asked, trying to not sound so excited. My heart beat was increasing considerably, I never had the opportunity to travel with friends. “Somewhere were we can be ourselves.” Kyungsoo winked. “And with snow, so we can enjoy a white Christmas”. It was this, what gave me strength. The normality between us all. I didn’t need more. My friends were the light I didn’t know I need, and I was also theirs. “So? What do you say Y/N? Are you up for the best holidays in your life?  I nodded.

I’m ready to have you in my life. Forever.
