My favorite 15 EXO songs that were not titles.

Well it’s been a while since my last post...over two weeks I think. I had a ton of work to do and my computer totally crashed. Here I am though just in time to celebrate EXO’s 5th anniversay. I’m counting down the 15 EXO songs I love the most that weren’t titles, I was supposed to do the top 5 but I just couldn’t do it. 

15. XOXO. The song that gives its title to EXO’s first full album. Referencing to hugs and kisses plus EXO’s name itself (sometimes SM is too clever). It’s a chill song that just puts you in a good mood.

14. Moonlight. Just a straight up R&B ballad from the Overdose mini album.

13. Lucky. Infectiously happy. One of the songs that I couldn’t get out of my head when I first heard their first album.

12. Machine. A fun song that makes you want to go party. Best listened live.

11.  Falling for you. From their  2016 winter album For Life. Chill song that absolutely highlights everybody’s voices in this one and Chanyeol/Sehun’s rap is always something to look forward.

10.  EXODUS. The song that gives the title to EXO’s second full album is a catchy pop song about a femme fatale.

9.  El dorado. Even though there’s a lot of people that fell for this one for the high production performance in EXO’luXion concerts, the song itself is epic and again really catchy.

8. Don’t Go. The chorus is everything on this one and Kyungsoo’s voice is an absolute highlight. 

7.  Girlxfriend. This song is from EXO’s 2015 winter special album Sing for you. The mixture between Chanyeol’s slow rap and the melodic tones of Baekhyun and Kyungsoo’s vocals is perfect.

6.  Black Pearl. Kyungsoo’s R&B verses mixes with poweful electro pop influences and transform this song into a must listened.

5. Artificial Love. EX’ACT’s most sultry song and I’m not even talking about the performance. Love the rap and the electronic beat.

4. Baby don’t cry. This ballad from the XOXO album has always had a special place in my heart.

3. Playboy. One of the songs that instantly became a favorite even before I learned it was written by Shinee’s Jonghyun who I really love. It’s an R&B chill song with a definetely sexy feel to it.

2. Heaven. As you probably have noticed I love EXO’s chill songs and this one is no different. Chanyeol wrote the lyrics and they are quite cheesy to be honest but I love it all the same. This is the kind of song that just makes you smile. 

1. Promise. The most emotional EXO song not only because it was composed by Yixing and the lyrics in korean were written by Chen and Chanyeol but also because it came out after Kris and Luhan decided to sue SM. I’ve actually watched a few reactions lately  to this song of people that don’t know the story and they can definetely feel all the emotions that this song tries to convey. It is that powerful.

I can say that few things and people make me want to wake up and do something. EXO have. Their music I listen to on the train in the morning, their videos I watch at lunch and their songs I hear walking home. When it gets tough EXO help me to keep going. 7 years is nothing, this is a lifetime thing. Military service is nothing. We are one. Here's to another 7 years and then another and another and another and forever. Lets Love.
