I don't think I've ever seen the original TNG exocomp episode but still more Almond Basket please and can they be a character rather than a background joke?
I'd also love an excomp Captain where every starfleet officer takes in stride and treats them with respect but everyone else they meet tries to talk to their first officer as if they were the captain..
my favourite thing is the way Data reacts every time someone says something he did or said was very human, like i was watching the episode with the exocomps and just. good feels
The exocomp episode is so fucking interesting i want to see more of them
“The Quality of Life” (S06E09, Stardate 46307.2) is an episode that often gets lost in the shuffle of greats. But it sets up a solid story for Data that explores his growing humanity, and some deep questions about what life is. It is not quite The Measure of a Man, but it is still solid.

Peanut's dad Kevin (LD). Perfectly ordinary name. Not "Mr. Hamper."
And then there's the three earlier STO exocomps. Zero Cool, Acid Burn, Cereal Killer. Those are from the movie Hackers. What the hell, Cryptic?
I'd say the mathematically perfect names are the better option.

Data shutting down the transporter in the name of sparing the exocomps from being destroyed to save Picard and La Forge really should have gotten him kicked out of Starfleet. Yes, the exocomps COULD be alive, but that's still up in the air, and meanwhile Picard and La Forge would be dead if this isn't done. In theory I see where he's coming from, but he's really crossed a line within the bounds of a Starfleet officer.
