This piece of kit is one of the most insane things ever. It's like a bug with a bunch of spikes that screams "don't mess with me". I couldn't imagine trying to fight with one let alone in the dark.

A Destiny/Doom Eternal crossover would be epic. Doom Slayer ornaments for Titan, demonic ornaments for Hunters, and Maykr ornaments for Warlocks. Not to mention an exotic Super shotgun that deals crazy damage up close but has short range and wide spread to balance it along with a 2 shot magazine. Exotic Linear Fusion Rifle or rocket launcher BFG, does exactly what it does in Doom but with low ammo reserves and shorter energy tendril range for Crucible. Special Finishers RIP and Tear, using a holographic chainsaw, and The Only Thing They Fear which uses the Crucible Blade.

So, I posted this a long while ago on my patreon, but felt it was time to share it here.

I’ve seen a lot of supplemental weapon posts, and figured I should throw my hat into the ring. I love weapons with special effects that aren’t necessarily magic, and felt 5e just didn’t have quite enough variety. Especially with ranged weapons. Most of these were translated from 3.5 or 4e, but some I did the footwork on myself. Either way, enjoy!

'If I cant see you' Inaccurate hip-fire; cannot aim down sights. Aiming instead lifts shield, blocking head shots and some body-shots but also your vision. Blocked shots store energy (up to 3x) which can be loaded into gun for stronger shots.

So I’ve seen plenty of homebrewed exotic weapons in my browsing, and many of them share a common flaw. So many exotic weapons lists end up being just Asian equivalents of European weapons, Katanas and whatnot. Admittedly, this list is more Asian weapons than not, I’m not blind, but I think that here are some weapons with no equivalents in any culture other than the one they originated from.

Custom Exotic: Sniper’s Torch

“When yer too old t’ hold the torch, pass it on. Someone else can--should take it instead,” said Anthem-99, glancing longingly at the bow.

“But what will you fight with, father?”

“I got you who’s always puttin’ up a fight, kid.” The old Exo laughed a little.

This merited a harsh frown from the Awoken.

Anthem shrugged. “What? I’m an old man, but that ain’t mean I lost my sense of humor. Y’know I love ya more than anything.”

“I would rather forfeit that love and see you continue the battle than give it up.”

“Oh, who said anythin’ about givin’ up, kid?” Anthem patted the quiver pressed against his left shoulder. “I’m givin’ ya a weapon, but not my arrows. ‘Cus I need ‘em for the other bows I got. But this one… this is yers now, son.”

“To pass the torch of the old sniper… Sniper’s Torch.” He glanced up at Anthem, glistening orange eyes bright.

Anthem leaned inward, wrapping his arms around the Awoken with a warm smile as he hooked the bow to his back. “I know I can trust ya, Uldren. Ya always been a good sniper, ‘n now, yer gonna be even better.”

Nodding, Uldren hugged Anthem-99 back, feeling the weight of this new yet ancient weapon against himself. It was a weapon old as the Exo, yet glimmering as though built mere days before. “I’ll always love you, father,” he said.

“I’ll love ya, too, son. ‘Til the end, ok?”

Appearance

A large, bulky compound bow, gold and bronze, shining as if infused with the Traveler’s radiance. Two thick white strings hooked to gears on either end of the bow form its back. There is a firm yet comfortable black grip with the notch set on the left side, but it can be switched. The entire weapon weighs about 8 pounds, and is solid metal.

Abilities

A Father’s Love:Precision kills, and streaks, generate 3% of super energy per kill on top of basic kill generation. Open Fire:Arrows explode on impact and release a small radius of pulsing fire.
