Thinking about Experia and how I have it in my worldbuilding doc that one's gender doesn't matter in most places (Afernai and Ahcos each have reasons it does matter that are slowly being whittled away), just their stats, and then wandered to "so how is pregnancy handled with that?"
And so I've decided that many places treat pregnancy (specifically in the later stages) as if the person has an injury like a broken leg: something that means they can't do their job for a bit, but eventually they'll be able to come back. Some places even let peoples' partner(s) take leave as well, though how much can vary by place and number of partners (because if there's three or more people in the relationship, then you don't need more than one off the whole time to help out with the child(ren) and around the house; they do need proof that they're in a poly relationship, though).
It can also vary a bit by species, as rohk are monotremes, so one can lay the egg and then pass off warming duty to their partner(s), while jorigan don't need to be there at all and for krarka it's their last act. Vampires I am only just realizing I never came up with a gestation period for dhampir, but, since they're just modified humans (or dhaptir, in Experian terms), I think I can safely leave it at nine-ish months.
Thinking about the fantasy story I've been cooking over the years, Experia, and I had the thought of "how do I emphasize that the main character has nothing special about them, they're just the one who happened to be in the right place at the right time?"
Well, it's a fantasy world where Adventurer is an occupation. Just add in a few other adventurers as side characters they keep running into either just before, just after, or actually at the same time as the Big Events.
A lot of people would be hunting down a guy capable of shattering something so important to the world as Save Points, just showing them doing so would make sense.
