About:
I’ve been writing fanfic for about 20 years, but first started writing when I was 9 years old. I’m 45 now. Early this year I passed the million word mark. I am a functionalist and a storyteller. I write to communicate, and try to make my writing transparent to the story I want to tell. I do tend to know roughly where a story is going when I’m writing, but I do a lot of “pantsing” to get there. I only write when the characters are in my head and clamoring to tell a story: I try to facilitate rather than direct, so it often doesn’t really feel like the story comes from me, so much as from the characters.
Outside of writing, I’m a disabled, queer mom of three kids, living on the left coast and trying to survive the current administration. I am a survivor and activist.
Outside of the Yuri on Ice fandom, I am also currently active in the Check Please fandom, and have written in several others. I am also working on an original work of fiction, and will be launching a Patreon for that soon.

Willing to Beta Read anything having to do with sex, parenting, birth, babies, breastfeeding, and chronic illness for realism.
Age: 45
Experience in beta reading: Yes, but I prefer not to do general beta reading at this point. I’m looking to improve the quality and plausibility of birth and medical scenes.
Works beta read before: Not in this fandom. I was a professional editor for a number of years for a professional journal, and have done informal beta reading for other fandoms. I am really best suited to, “I’ve never had a baby and want to write a birth: how can I make this more plausible?” as I don’t have time for beta reading long works.
Preferences in Fics to Beta read: You should have a goal of writing something remotely plausible. (And yeah, I’m willing to read ABO and help make it more plausible.) I have zero general interest in mafia/assassin aus, but will beta specific scenes for them.
Reasons for beta reading/wanting to be a beta reader: I get tired of birth being written like they show it on tv. I’ve seen something like 18 babies born, including 3 of my own, and have a professional background as a doula and childbirth educator, including years of study in the area of maternal health.
Samples of your writings: For birth scene: Broken Rules (Check Please fandom). For YOI writing: Translations on Ice.
