My Animation - How to make a cuppa. Make using iPhoto and iMovie..

Animation
With this subject we where asked to make a small animation of anything we wanted to do, we had to do this by taking a number of images and putting them together on a editing software. When coming down to finding ideas on what to do I looked on youtube for stop motion videos to see what I could do and ways I could do it. When coming down to creating my animation I wanted to produce something using post it notes. But when coming down to it I found it to complicated to do and frustrating. So my other idea was to show some one walking around the house doing things they did in an every day life. I did this the only problem I found was I didn’t take enough images showing this and I wish I took more to show this. To take these images I used a Nikon D300 on spots mode so I could get the contuse shutter when taking the images so I did not miss any movement. When producing the animation I had to import all the images into iPhoto then into iMovie. When loading them all in to it put the images into order so there was no fussing around, all I had to do was change the time the images where showing to make the images move faster so you could see the movement in the images. The next thing I did was place a song to go with the images this made the animation less bland. With this music I didn’t want it to just start and stop I put a fade in at the start and a fade out at the end.
Photo Joiner To get this final image I first downloaded my selected photos on to bridge, this helps select the images i want and need. I wouldn't be able to open them up in photoshop straight away as the high resolution would make these files to big to fit on to the plain canvas i would open in order to place all images together. So i opened File - New and i set the canvas to width - 60cms and height - 100cm with the colour, white and 300 inch ppi, which would leave lots of space to work with. To get my individual images on to the canvas, i opened the image in a new tab in photoshop, using the move tool i transferred the picture on to the canvas. This would make the picture a new layer within the whole image. I repeated this with all my images. I shot this in black and white to keep the image minimalistic due to so much going on.
File types RAW Jpeg etc
File types RAW Jpeg etc • Raw Raw is a camera file that contains passed data from the image sensor this means it remembers more about the image and how it was taken, also remembers the settings you used to take the image. For example if you take an image with a red filter lens on the end of you camera and shooting in raw and on top of that shooting in black and white the file will see that you have shot in a red filter and remember it. When you load your images on to a mac and open them in bridge or Photoshop they will come up red as it has remembered this, all you do is put the black and white effect back on to it. This file is a lot better to use when shooting as its more reliable as it remembers all the edits you have made on your camera. The images come out as a better quality as well less grainy and more focused. • Jpeg Jpeg format is good if you want to produce or save in a low format file, or if you want to put any images online it will be quick to up load on to any site such as tumblr or facebook. But if you want to produce high quality images Jpeg is not the file to use as when you up load it use it edit it on photoshop many times the quality in the image loses its memory. The image becomes fuzzy if you zoom in the image, the image will become pixelated. • Tiff Tiff stands for tagged image file format. Tiff files are very use full as they save in code. They save the memory of you image and what settings you have taken It on. With this this file you can save the file as many times as you want to and flatten and change the image as you want e.g. editing. The only problem with tiff files most sites don’t use them. But for quietly images this will be good one to use.
Photo Joiners
To create a photo joiner you need to take two pictures using a tripod not moving the camera but the object (person) also making sure they was both the same exposure, once I had my two images I could then go onto merging them together. To do this I had to open both images in Photoshop and layer them on top of each other to do this I held ‘shift’ to make sure they was in line together I then choose layer – layer mask – reveal all and then using the paint brush on white I could remove the top layer to reveal what I wanted to show on the bottom photo. This photo was my final photo I created.
