Was looking through a sketchbook and found some stuff where I was batting around the idea of Lit being on friendly terms with Membrane, largely for the apocalyptic effect on poor Dib's blood pressure.

Drew Lit in her old Explorer Corps uniform!

And then a whole bunch of other outfits for both her real and disguised forms. Obviously the teal dress and explorer outfit are the defaults, but she can Fashion if she wants to!

Disguised Lit!

Her Earth Look came from going on Google images and interpreting this as something she’d be expected to wear given her activities. 

Mico is blue because Lit misinterpreted ‘Flemish Giant Rabbits come in blue’; no one seems to have noticed, or at least they’re not bringing it up.

It’s not uncommon for people to assume she’s filming a show. (Obviously the giant breed rabbit is the mascot.)

You’ve met Lit and Ewns, here are some more of their smeetery group! (The numbers below them are where they fall in hatching/decanting order; the ‘100 smeets per clutch’ is borrowed from @turbomun and @rafespeaks‘ writings.)

Lit gets along with most of them; when she was a regular member of society she was around Laboc and Cheep the most. She’s never really gotten along with Ewns though, and Bucket tends to interpret any friendly overtures as condescending.

Actually Ewns is The Relative No One Likes, because she’s awful. She doesn’t care though because she’s the tallest one and loves being awful. She has it out for Lit and Ekleeta in particular - she’s suspicious of Lit’s movements and how infrequently she reports/how often she labels things ‘no use to the Empire’, and believes she and Ekleeta are rivals. (Ekleeta barely remembers who she is most of the time.)

Kee-Blar is actually the most prestigious of the clutch, to Ewns’ immense annoyance. Snackmaster is a very important and well-regarded role!

Laboc and Cheep still hang out a lot when they have time. They’re both a little nervous, but a lot more confident together. Like Ewns they’re a little suspicious of Lit’s activity, but they actually like her and are not her superior so - none of their business!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ekleeta and Duran get along famously and are rarely seen apart; Duran is unofficially Ekleeta’s lieutenant.

As noted, Bucket tends to assume anyone acting friendly is patronizing her or setting her up, so she doesn’t really hang around with anyone. (In her defense, in Irken society she’s often right.)

Name origins because I’m proud of some of them:

Lit: Came from a ‘find your Irken name’ meme. (She became an actual character almost by accident and now look at us...)

Ewns: East West North South. Basically I just took the initials of the cardinal directions and rearranged them until I liked one.

Kee-Blar: Keebler, same name pattern as Sizz-Lorr. (Her name was initially going to be Bazz-Kin but it was too close to @riftclaw‘s Baz for my liking.)

Laboc: Astrolabe + octant

Ekleeta: Elite --> ELT --> Echo Lima Tango --> change some letters to look more ‘Irken’/clarify the pronunciation

Duran: A Duran Duran song came up on my playlist and I thought it sounded a little like ‘durable’.

Cheep: “Cheep is a cute word that sounds like it could be an Irken name, I should name one Cheep.”

Bucket: “haha what if I named her bucket”.

And that’s how we got eight of a hundred smeets!

OCtober Day 2 is Lit! 

I’ve decided that when my own characters come up as solos I’m gonna put them in a version of a known image. I’m sure you can all guess who Lit is imitating!

This is another one I didn’t roll for due to having something specific in mind!

I love the contrasts in Blis and Lit’s looks a lot - round + colorful vs square + monochrome, short tightly curled antennae vs long and loose... they look nice together I think!

And they’re bonding!
