…but I truly feel in my heart of hearts that he’s genuinely sweet in this fic!!! So I demand (not really lol you don’t need to answer this one it’s just for fun) that you make your case by elaborating on his perspective here:

I was saving this one as a treat for myself (I am very nervous today for reasons). SO. Okay. Is Express Delivery my dirtbaggiest Alex? I would argue yes, because:

the clonebots both are and are not Alex. And they are filthy animals who are extremely presumptuous (yes they're correct but still) and single-minded. If they didn't have robot safety protocols literally programmed into them, they'd have run a train on George with the front door still open. Alex the First and Alex the Fourth in particular are repeat offenders in this respect. That's why they're my favourites

Real Alex, yes, is sweet. Throughout the fic I try to keep him out of view the most, but he's usually in a position of taking care of George – he's the one whose thigh is under George's head, the one who holds him etc. Buuuuuuut. He did infiltrate this scenario under a false premise. And yes, how could he do anything else when he showed up for his padel match pickup and George was being groped against a wall by five inferior copies of himself? Still, we are docking a point for dishonesty.

Your passage is a wonderful selection for showing the caring Alex does. But I will remind you that immediately after this he FILMS GEORGE BEING (REVERSE?) EIFFEL TOWERED ON HIS PHONE. Bad! Wrong and Bad! (And hot, which is why I wrote it).

Okay so this is not fair because it doesn't take place in the fic itself, but I know in my heart of hearts that Alex WILL sneak out with the clonebots and WILL deny ever being there. (However, that phone video will also come back to haunt him as Exhibit A so, like. Good luck, babe). ((It occurs to me I'm very fond of Alex having compromising pictures/video of George on his phone to look at guiltily. The private collection conversation really got to me, I guess))
