I was actually feeling miserable today seeing as mother’s day came along and I am abroad. After this very abnormal selfie session I felt alright. Alright to face the day and appreciate the goodness.

Voyage on the Airship of Expression! FREE Steampunk poetry, immersive performance and swing night!! Expression Session #9

It is 1000 air miles from the distant land of Expression to Brighton; the city of music, art and creativity. But after hearing our city's reputation an airship crew have made that voyage and will be docking for one night ONLY on 19th at Yellowbook....and Brighton Expression Sessions are very excited to annouce that we will be hosting an immersive night of performance, open floor poetry, drum circles, live music, jams and an electro swing DJ set on board the ship - we will be setting sail on a voyage to the World of Drums and back again!!

Drummers, bring your drums, musicians, bring your instruments, poets bring your words. Get ready to leave everything else behind at the door and dive head first into an evening of adventure!

VOYAGE ITINERARY ~ Join the voyage from 6pm! 

6pm - CHECK IN AND TAKE OFF - Enter the space, explore the airship, drink an ale, a mead, a cocktail and meet the strange airship crew. Play with the mad inventions and devices of the airship and steer the ship. Check your personality in at the door, and pick a new steampunk one for the night, then roll the dice of chance to get your face painted randomly!

7pm - OPEN FLOOR POETRY FROM THE LAND OF EXPRESSION Poetry set and open floor jam hosted by the ships resident Cyborg Air Steward and the Bad Poets. The theme is Expression! Bring your poems and read them out during this open floor jam!

8.00pm - 10.00pm - DRUM CIRCLE - ARRIVAL IN THE LAND OF DRUMS! At rough 0800, we will be docking in the land of drums for 2 hours only! All drummers, percussionists, stick wavers, bell chimers, rattle shakers, tamborinists are invited to join us and help us make amazing music!

10pm - 11pm - ON BOARD ENTERTAINMENT AND MUSIC Our crew will be providing live music and jam stations - more info to come!

11pm - 1.30am - ELECTRO SWING DOCKING PARTY!!!! DJ Brujas Sun will be helping us celebrate our arrival bac in brighton with a fantastic electro swing set -get your dancing shoes on!!

The event is free, but when the airship is full it's full!

Life is a challenge, and the silly thing is the cure to ones woes lies within.

It is that acceptance of reality; living with self-consciousness and self-confidence. This mofo is the hardest shit to deal with. FAR OUT!

My greatest weakness is the inability to express the emotions that trouble me in fear of being vulnerable and the fear of burdening others with my issues...especially when I don't know what a persons motives are, and knowing that they are going through turmoil themselves. It is a constant fight between the paradoxes of wanting to be genuine with others and 'losing power' when sharing that deep raw emotion. It shouldn't be this way, why is it not natural for me to share my weaknesses with others

...instead I let it poison me, fester...turning my soul to black, spreading slowly like viscous black oil suffocating my lungs..can't breathe. In isolation I hide, don't let them see me so weak unable to muster a smile..plug in my headphones as the music like hot water slowly disintegrating the oil, never  cleansing more like a plaster on a festering wound waiting to resurface again.

  The coming of my enlightenment is about to resurface, resurrecting my soul from the darkness December express, hello awareness. HELLO HLEZI. Bringing me back to life are beliefs and practices that may seem unconventional to some, however we each embark on a personal life journey here I am seeking to find this newly found way of thought. Wish me well!
