absolutely hate when history classes have an extended response question which basically says “hey what do you think would happen if this big historical event didn’t happen?” like babe, I’m sorry but the Revolution happened. trying to untangle historical events seems morally wrong. like you can’t just take part of a story instead of the whole. the whole story is necessary. to get rid of part of the story and ask what would happen now . . . is just wrong feeling.
