Is collective consciousness a vast ocean? Can individual minds be imagined as islands in this vast ocean, some small while others being veritable continents? Each island might be unique in its own way, populated by things that make up each individual. You are free to reclaim and raise some land from the ocean and enlarge your island. Learn new things and add a few coconut trees to your Maldives. 

Every time you want to communicate something to a fellow human being, you need to stand close to your shore and shout as loud as you can. Maybe the other person can hear you over the waves of noise crashing all around you, maybe they can’t. 

One day, when sharing minds can truly take place, you can grab a boat and row over to the island you want to visit and just explore the glory, the secrets, and the surprises this new island holds for you.

Until then, just ensure that your island never becomes small enough to vanish from this ocean. Also, always keep your shores inviting and your harbour calm; who knows who might decide to drop in?
