Found the discussion--EXTRA Tokiomi canonically had an illegitimate child from an affair he had in Europe (who’s probably not EXTRA Rin because of the ages/date) but even if she’s not his actual daughter, EXTRA Rin is definitely descended from that child.
I’ve noticed that a lot of people seem to treat FSN Rin and EXTRA Rin as if they’re the exact same character. They’re not.
They might seem identical at first, but they’re very different characters once you get past their surfaces and they’re not interchangeable. EXTRA Rin’s actions have nothing to do with FSN Rin’s character or personality, and vice-versa. EXTRA Rin, frankly, is a jerk who behaves and thinks in ways that FSN Rin would be totally against (starting with the fact that she’s a terrorist ffs). EXTRA Rin got nicknamed “Rip-off Rin” for a reason.
They’re not even from the same universe and even if they were, they’d still be different characters. You can’t analyze the aunt by using her alternate world niece and you can’t judge the niece by her alternate world aunt.
