“What if we buy more cushions?”
“I don’t think buying more cushions is going to solve the existing problem. There’s already too many as it is.”
“There’s no such thing as too many—they’re like blankets that way.”
“There actually is a thing as too many and you know you’ve reached that point when there’s no place to actually sit on a couch.”
“Exactly.”
“You’ve lost me.”
“No one’s sitting on that particular couch now anyways—”
“—because it’s so bloody uncomfortable—”
“—so if we add more cushions to the point where it’s unsittable, then we can make the argument that we need a bigger, more comfortable couch, one that people will actually sit on. And then we can get rid of this one.”
“You know, you may be on to something there…”
