omg yes definitely!! I’m sorry I did mean to respond to your initial reply but I forgot about it fkdjskfjs. anyway!

when I want to use a starter (which I only do every once in a while bc I’m a: lazy and b: don’t make bread often enough to justify continuously feeding some yeast in my fridge for no reason) I use this alton brown recipe for the starter itself and mix it with this king arthur rustic sourdough bread recipe bc this recipe also uses a couple teaspoons of commercial instant yeast in conjunction with the starter and I’ve used recipes before with just a starter before but I truly do think the little bit of commercial yeast makes it taste better. idk if I’ve just been duped but it works!

when I’m not using starter (most of the time) I use yet another alton brown recipe. I really vibe with this one bc u don’t have to knead it and it still comes out perfect. what I’ll say about this one is I 100% believe that it does not come out right unless u use the preheated dutch oven method. (tbh tho I do believe that for all breads the preheated dutch oven is absolutely the secret weapon (I use that for starter sourdough too and just any breads that u form into loaves in general).)

also I don’t usually do this bc most of the time I eyeball measurements but since sourdough is so particular I really do rec converting measurements and using grams to weigh everything out (esp if you’re using starter) bc it just gets it more precise

truly I don’t have very many secrets it’s just I trust alton brown with my life when it comes to recipes (esp with the harder ones like sourdough) and I’m very particular about what I use to bake things in dkjfksjkfk sorry if this wasn’t as detailed as u expected
