Okay so I think the way it happens is that rumours are going around about them dating and loads of those celebrity gossip shows are talking about it because a) their cats look identical and b) the minyard josten rivalry us looking more and more like suppressed sexual tension rather than hate, so:

Reporters repeatedly ask them about it and they keep on giving vague or misleading answers, because even though they both feel ready to come out it's fun to fuck with the media so why not

Andrew and Neil are still on separate teams at this point, although it has been announced that they are both set to join the Olympic team next season

And everyone thinks this is hilarious bc how will they even work together? They hate each other right?

Anyway it's one of Neil's games, and Andrew is watching from right at the back of the stands so the reporters haven't seen him

And Neil gets body checked and slammed against the wall, hard. Really hard.

The backliner that checked him is still reaching for the ball, expecting to fight for it, and in his rush he doesn't notice that Neil is just lying there on the floor, completely still

It takes everyone a few seconds to catch on that Neil isn't getting up,

But Andrew notices straight away, and his heart is going at a hundred miles an hour as he races down the back of the stands to get to his boyfriend

By the time he gets down, the team nurses have taken Neil out of the stadium and are carrying him to the medical room, while the game carries on

Andrew rushes into the room, where Neil is still passed out on the bed

The team nurse, who is aware of their relationship, tells Andrew Neil has a concussion and a broken rib, potentially some head trauma, and a sprained ankle. She says she'll do her best to keep the press away

The commentators are desperate to know what's happened to Neil and how this will affect future games, so they try as hard as they can to send press in to see what's happened

The nurse leaves for a couple of minutes to get some supplies and one sneaky reporter makes his way to the door, stands behind it, and films through the opening on his phone

He's completely silent, so Andrew doesn't notice

What the camera sees is Andrew clutching Neil's hand, brushing his hair back from his head.

The camera sees Neil cracking his eyes open and and whispering "Andrew?," while Andrew presses a gentle kiss to his hand, then his forehead.

"Yeah," Andrew replies. "Does it hurt?"

A hint of a smile. "I'm fine," Neil manages to get out, and Andrew rolls his eyes.

The reporter hears footsteps and gets the fuck out of there, and then Neil is taken to hospital

The next day, the footage, shaky and low quality, is all over the news and social media. Talk shows, exy shows, fan accounts - they're all discussing the possibility that Neil and Andrew could be a thing

Some people dig out old videos of them that look like rivalry but at a second glance could be something more

The foxes message Andrew to let him know what's happened, and both he and Neil stay in hospital for a couple of days.

What neither of them expect is that when they leave, there are dozens of reporters and hundreds of fans waiting outside.

They're all shouting out questions like Are you together? How bad are the injuries? What does this mean for the next season? Will your relationship get in the way of you being on the same team next year?

And obviously, they don't reply.

Somehow, they manage to get to the car, both of them getting increasingly irritated.

Right before they get in, Andrew turns to Neil and asks yes or no

Neil knows what's coming, he smiles and says yes

Andrew grabs Neil's face with both hands, and they kiss, right in front of the press, with everyone recording, for a good minute.

This obviously results in uproar

The next day Neil posts a picture of Sir and King with Andrew in the background and the caption "we've had these cats for two years"

They're the talk of the season.

Bro, I was reading a Yuri on Ice fanfic and Yuuri’s having a panic attack. My immediate thought is that Viktor’s going to put his hand on Yuuri’s neck like Andrew does for Neil.

I've seen a lot of posts talking about touch starved Neil but we must consider: touch starved Andrew.

Yes touch makes him uncomfortable, but that's because of his previous experience, not because he doesn't want it. Of course he wants friendly touch, loving touch, innocent touch.

I like to think that once he becomes fully comfortable with Neil, when he lets himself believe that what they have is real and it's staying, he likes casual touch just as much as Neil.

Holding hands, brushing shoulders, hugs, forehead kisses, lying huddled together. Casual comfortable touch that makes his heart hurt in a good way, because he just can't believe that he has this precious love, this beautiful boy.

Andreil may never be as showy as other couples, or as publicly affectionate, but I like to think that they eventually become as physically loving as any other couple.

Andreil go house hunting, they're looking to buy a 2 bedroom luxury apartment

And somehow they end up with a realtor that is a DIE HARD exy fan.

She knows all the stats, watches all the games, cardboard cut out of Kevin in her room from when she was a teen,

And so ofc she literally LOSES HER SHIT when she realises that the clients are none other than Andrew Minyard and Neil Josten like WHAT THE FUCK

But she tells herself she's going to try and play it cool, be professional, and then maybe at the end she can ask for an autograph?

Andrew and Neil bring the cats with them. They let them loose in every apartment, and every time they meow Andrew will not knowingly and say something like "you're right, it's too small" or "yes I also like the colour of the carpet"

And the realtor is allergic to cats but she's not about to say anything to Andrew so she's trying her best to hold her sneezes in

Neil likes every single apartment. He is not very helpful at all

Then she's about to show them one she thinks they'll really like, but she tells them beforehand that it's a one bedroom

They're not technically official in the press but all the real fans know they're a thing and they've never denied it

Andrew raises an eyebrow when she says this and motions for her to continue , while Neil just smirks

Anyway, they decide they really like the one bedroom and sir and king also approve so they let her know they want to put in an offer

And while Neil is filling out the paperwork Andrew is just walking around the apartment and he can tell this woman is just ITCHING to ask him a question

After five minutes he gets bored and asks her "what"

And she sort of fumbles for a second then goes into her handbag and whips out a book titled "All time Exy legends" which is basically just a bunch of glossy pics and interviews from members of US court

And she very tentatively asks "Would you mind signing this? You don't have to, obviously, I don't want to bother you, but I'm a huge fan and it's been so wonderful meeting you guys and-"

Neil decides to save the poor girl because Andrew was clearly just going to let her ramble

He smiles and says "of course!" and takes the book and the pen from her

He flips through the pages until he gets to one of Andrew shirtless with a bunch of his stats printed at the bottom and signs it, smiling

Andrew obviously finds this repulsive and rolls his eyes but takes the book anyway when Neil extends it to him

Neil watches as Andrew flicks to the striker section and signs a photo of Kevin and Neil with "Absolute junkies - don't encourage them. AM."

The realtor pets sir and king despite her allergies bc they're such icons how could she not

They thank her and go on their way

Every time that a fox goes house hunting after that, Andrew recommends the same realtor, which is how she meets Dan and Matt

It's not that Andrew likes her, because he doesn't like anyone, it's just that Sir and King liked her, and they never like anyone, and they told him to be nice to her, and he can't say no to them because they're the ones who actually run the Minyard-Josten household

Hello! Thanks so much for this, I haven't done it before!

Any time they're playing against each other, Neil will find a way to sneak into Andrew's team's changing room before and go full Kevin on him. Remember to do this. Make sure you actually try please. Did you practice? Have you eaten? Properly???

Andrew excuses it because a) Neil's cute and b) Neil always kisses him before he leaves

Reporters see Neil leaving the opposing team's room all flushed and red and immediately jump to the conclusion that Neil must have run his mouth with Andrew

Which isn't wrong, but unlike what the reporters think, it is not a rage fuelled arguement

So, the actual game

Fans very quickly pick up that both Neil and Andrew tend to play a lot harder when they're playing against each other...

And they notice Neil saying something through his helmet every time Andrew blocks a goal

They can't pick up on what it is and assume it's some sort of curse but it is actually encouragement, Andrew is not impressed and neither is Neil's team

Andrew will always volunteer to do the half time interview and will always talk about Neil and how amazing and talented he is, in his usual sarcastic deadpan voice obviously, and people don't know that that's just how he is so they think he's mocking Neil

Neil will refuse to talk about Andrew. When the subject is brought up he will avoid it. Reporters have commented on the fact that this is very unlike him. Mysterious

Truth is Neil just can't say one bad word about Andrew but theyre not out yet and he doesn't want to give it away

Also, Nicky showed him some very funny "Minyard - Josten rivalry" tweets and Neil wants to spice things up and add to the fire because why not

But he likes staring at Andrew. Frequently. Those MusCLeS!!!!!!!!!

If the camera cuts to Neil, it's almost guaranteed he will be looking at Andrew.

Now both the teams are actually on very good terms so when they finish the game, regardless of who won, they all hug each other/shake hands before they go off the court

And obviously, Neil doesn't do this with Andrew because he respects his boundaries, and he can't ask yes or no in public like this, and so it's a no

And the Josten fans find this hilarious because it's typical Neil, being petty and aggressive,

What they obviously don't notice is that the night after a game, before the two teams fly home, Andrew and Neil share a hotel room. They're very careful about being discreet and making sure sneaky fans don't take any pictures, because while they're comfortable with the relationship, they don't want questions

It's only 3 years later, when Andrew and Neil have both made court, and they move into an apartment together, that people finally realise

Even then, its only because they both post pictures of Sir and King and people notice that they're in fact the same cats.

I feel like this is really rambly and it doesn't have any substance so sorry to disappoint, running low on ideas atm. I might make a part 2 if something else comes to me.

Andrew as a Maserati partner:

The ad director is trying really hard to make Andrew look enthusiastic but the best they're going to get is deadpan Andrew

So they tell him to look "sexy and brooding" aka Andrew's usual face

So the ad focusses on the speedy sports car aspect

It's Andrew coming out of the stadium sweaty and in his uniform, driving to a big fancy mansion where a butler opens the door and he goes in

Then comes out two seconds later wearing a ridiculously expensive suit and watch

Goes back into the car, and drives to an exy banquet

It's all very fast paced, very expensive vibes

Now initially there were plans on a voiceover by Andrew detailing all the lovely reasons one should by a Maserati but obviously it sounded bored and sarcastic so some random lady ended up doing the voiceover

And Andrew just said the make and model at the end

But people go CRAZY over this ad

Andrew fans are so deprived of content they are EATING THIS UP

And a few days later Neil tweets a pic of Andrew in the suit standing next to the car with the caption "he looks hot right"

And the ad BLOWS UP

Rich people exy fans are ALL OVER IT, that car is doing so well

They end up renewing Andrews contract and even include his uninterested sounding voiceover next time

The directors are confused as to why people love hearing Andrew sound bored so much but it's working so they just roll with it
