Nobody tagged me but I wanna play! Top 10 QL series!
Queer as Folk
Obviously number one, right? The very first show I ever saw portraying realistic gay relationships, on tv, where no one made fun of them. Shoutout to 14yo me watching this show at 2am on Showtime with the sound turned way down.
Love in the Air
Not my first BL but the first that caused me to sit up and pay attention (and write lots of fic). Prapaisky are forever my best boys despite the MAME of it all.
SKAM
Specifically SKAM Italia because there is just something so warm in every single episode. So much care and love in the relationships between friends. And because marti is my bluest boy. Loved it so much had to make a sideblog for that @azozzoni
Eyewitness (US)
Again, no surprise, the sad blue boys are my weakness. But I watched this while going through a particularly hard time and they helped me feel better.
The Heart Killers
My first foray into joongdunk as a pair. Went in for firstkhao and came out a Fadelstyle truther. No one could have played Style but Dunk with his cutoff shirts and truly unabashed methods of flirting.
My Stubborn
This show came out of nowhere, okay. Not objectively good but somehow still so engaging and fun that I could not wait for episodes to drop every week.
Black Sails
A masterpiece of writing, lots of ql representation, complex storytelling and beautiful cinematography. What more could a girl want?
Spartacus
I know what I could want—gay gladiators killing Romans and taking names. Thanks, nagron, for living happily ever after on your goat farm.
Kinnporsche
The first proper BL I watched despite being vaguely aware of them for years. Vegas inspired me to create this very sideblog and begin the deep dive into Thai BL.
Kiseki Dear to Me
First Taiwanese BL. I gotta say I love me some feral kitty cats in Ai Di.
Honorable mentions are Shameless and Animal Kingdom, both of which are good shows with complex ql storylines.
