Hello fans of the Tale of Magic and Land of Stories series! I am very happy to announce my new book, Charlie Black in the Alternate Timelines. It features a young Charlotte "Charlie" Black discovering she has the magic to travel through different versions of events in both the Fairy-tale world and Otherworld. Everything you wished happened will now happen.

John survives the car crash and Alex and Conner live a happy childhood. Ezmia never breathes in the mirror dust. Brystal and Lucy kiss. Life gets better when giant hyper-intelligient ants take over Earth. Little Bo Peep and Red Riding hood lesbianly argue for 5 chapters. Elrik and Xanthous have a nasty divorce. Sir Lampton as Buster gets rabies and is euthanised. Every character in The Land of Stories and A Tale of Magic murders the Masked Man a hundred times.

So... Hello, have you ever wondered what would have happened if something had happened or hadn't happened in ATOM and TLOS? For example, if Ezmia could cope with her emotions, find support and become the next fairy godmother. Or if Madam Weatherberry could overcome her anger towards the people who killed her lover.

If we consider the first situation (with Ezmia), then it is quite possible that the twins did get their hands on the Land of Stories , but then Ezmia would have already taken the role of fairy godmother, which means that the twins would not have been helped by their grandmother at the end of the book (because Ezmia would have already taken Brystal's place). Of course, if the twins' grandmother had been in the fairy-tale world at that moment, she would most likely have helped them (after all, they stole Cinderella's slipper, burned Little Red Riding Hood's castle, and in general did a lot of bad things crimes).

What I find interesting about Ezmia's backstory is how the offenses of the people who wronged her get less severe as the list goes on, but her reaction escalates in spite of that. The first two did genuinely horrible things to her, then the next two were still bad but much less severe, and the last one literally just friendzoned her and she's more angry about that than she was about the guy who physically abused her. I like how it kind of implicitly shows her mental state getting worse over time so the evilness doesn't feel out of nowhere.

rereading the land of stories bc i was obsessed with it growing up and damn do i understand why. It’s marketed towards kids but it doesn’t baby them and the lessons are true and transcend age and the characters are amazing? Also I kind of love Ezmia as a villain and character and person. I’m reading the enchantress returns and everything she says is so… True? Like yeah. Yeah keep talking queen. I’m so fucking mad she didn’t get the redemption arc she deserved.
