Some modern tdp charcter designs for my cottage cuddles au (au is highly rayllum focused, I’m just having fun with concept art, although these 3 do all appear to varying degrees)
Ez and Aanya are highschool senior classmates in Canada where Callum is from, Ellis is a year older and on her gap year, working in Lujanne’s hokey ‘celtic mysticism’ new age tourist shop in Scotland, Ezran meets her when he visits Callum there and takes like 10 minutes to completely casually ask her out, right in front of Callum who’s been pining for his housemate Rayla a full-ass year at this point.
I have so much head-backstory for these characters who appear in like one chapter, especially for Ellis, somehow, despite her appearing the LEAST, and I tried to put small nods to the backstory in their visual designs.
There’s more of these coming, I’m planning on doing a full modern au lineup, and have a lot of sketches and half-finished stuff.
If romance were to be done with Ezran, do you think they'll create a new character or perhaps do a romance with him involving Aanya or even Ellis (I would honestly love to see the latte and Ava return).
Narratively, I think Ez's compassion and love for his kingdom and all animals is probably a bigger deal than his romance, so I'm not sure they'd necessarily put a whole lot of emphasis on his romance in the show but I'm also a fan of Ezran being happy so honestly, I don't know. I like the idea of not focussing too much on his shipping BC he's 12 but I am also a huge fan of Ezraanya, political nightmare that it would be and all. Ezris is also very sweet and Ellis would very much be the relief in amongst all the hard work of being king. I dunno that they'd introduce anyone necessarily when you've got two characters that could work already. There is a third ship that we're not going to talk about BC it's not my crackship to discuss (aka I'm only half willingly on this train) but if you Know, you Know and there's no escape from it
Just read more information about Rangers for dungeons and dragons au and its perfect Ezran/Ellis combination. Ezran for being a druid and Ellis for being a Ranger!
Both specialize in animal spells such as Animal friendship, and Hunters Mark.
Both have animal companions: Ez has a familiar though: Bait. Ellis has her Ava.
1. The fact that Rayla just wrote off her hand is so sad.

3. Aww Ezran and Ellis are just so good together, as friends or romantically.
4. FLASH! WOOF! WHOOSH! SLISH-SLASH! And then he just looks at them smiling and it's adorable!!
5. I love how he imagines everyone all heroic.
6. He's so awkward and shy when Ellis talks about how cool it is that he'll do a spell.
7. Rayla's giving Callum such a hard time here and I am here for it!
8. Callum just shrugs when they roll their eyes at him - that's good-naturedness right there.
9. Moonshadow elves must be able to survive longer without food and water since Runaan is still functioning after four days of captivity without sustenance.
10. Oh come on, Callum's 'Mount Monotonous' was just as funny as the others! But the actual, real-life cricket was gold.
11. Rayla and Callum standing blind beside each other in the first scene with the monster - I love it for some inexplicable reason.
12. The fact that Rayla took out her sword and turned to the monster before turning back and climbing the tree makes me wonder if at first she'd planned to fight it.

14. Aww Rayla and Ezran's talk. Their friendship is beautiful. And the music is Rayla's theme too! (On this rewatch of the series I'm on a mission to notice whenever they play Rayla's theme, since I didn't have a proper grasp of it before.)
15. Ellis and Callum's conversation is so sweet as well. I could totally see her being a great addition to the family.
16. In all honesty the first time I watched TDP I did expect Callum to leave the primal stone behind in this scene, because it was lying there and after he'd admitted how much he needed it I thought it made sense, storywise. Of course it makes even more sense the way it actually happened!
17. The weird musical noise the leech makes is pure brilliance.
19. Oh God Runaan's screams as he's coined are chilling.
18. The fact that neither Rayla nor Callum has actually dealt with the issue they talked about by the end of this fight is some great writing. It won't be that easy to solve your problems.
20. Ava, couldn't you have mentioned the lack of a miracle healer earlier?
21. Look at that, Corvus is tracking them! I didn't realise the credits had sketches the first time I watched TDP (thanks for that, Netflix) so being able to keep track of him in the credits the next time I watched was fun. And I got even more out of the show.

Ellis is such a sweetheart! One of my favourites, if not my favourite side character. And the fact that Rayla was giving the boys (probably mainly Callum) a death stare prior to this but at these words smiled again, just a little, is proof Ellis would be a great addition to the family! (I'm really on the fence about whether I ship Ezran with Ellis or Aanya).
Callum: Got a better idea?
Rayla: As a matter of fact... I do not.
Ellis: Too bad it also means the nightmare's about to begin!
Ellis, I love you.
Rayla: I think he's finally cracked under the pressure.
Rayla teasing Callum gives me life. And honestly, this whole episode is the three of them ganging up on him with some deep discussions and giant monsters thrown in.
Rayla: Yeah, he's gonna blow on the monster. Ruffle its fur real good.
You just won't give him a break, will you? ...I love it.
Ezran: That monster won't know what hit it. Oh wait, it will. It'll be wind.
When Ezran joins in, it's pure gold! And Rayla laughing at them is the icing on the cake.
Rayla: Wait. Callum, you may be a dummy but you're not a fool!
Callum: Am I supposed to feel flattered by this?
I feel like this sums up their entire S1 dynamic. And possibly their later dynamic.
Runaan: I am already dead.
Viren: You don't look dead.
This is hilarious because it decidedly doesn't fit with the rest of the scene.
Gren: Excuse me! I would love to try some Xadian fruit. ...... Very good.
Callum: I think the scariest thing I've seen so far is an angry cricket. And he's more like... mildly annoyed.
Ezran: Is that to distract the monster?
Callum: No, it's just to get away and live!
Rayla: It came out more like 'Argh! Oops! Help! Run!'
Ellis: And maybe like a weird amulet or something?
Ok but he does get one later - Ethari's pendant!
Rayla: Knowing you is definitely worth losing a hand for.
I'm dying. They're so sweet!
Callum: But without this, I'm nothing.

Ellis: I have a feeling you'd be pretty amazing, even without your magic ball.
Callum's theme plays during this bit, and me with hindsight thinking of all he accomplishes despite - because of - losing the primal stone just sitting here going 'You are amazing!' Ellis really is great.
I love this episode for Gren, the deep conversations between Rayla and Ezran and Callum and Ellis, where we get to see them admit to things they've been struggling with, and the whole bit with the monster and the plan. Plus, everyone teases Callum. We won't talk about Runaan. It's a bit of a calm before the storm (literally) too, because they're on the final trek up the mountain but they haven't encountered their miracle healer or had to hatch the egg yet. Even though it's not one of my absolute favourite episodes it's very close and, like so many TDP episodes, I enjoy it immensely.

Welcome back to Rarepair Rumble! We’re finally reaching the end of Round 1 with the contestants from block D. this time, however, we’ll have an extra pair - Raydia vs Jazi! These two were tied last round, so I decided to include them in this round to give them another chance.
Another change - we finally know the name of Viren’s ex-wife - Lissa. I changed her name and the new ship name for Viren’s ex x Sarai (or Lissa x Sarai) is Lirai! ^u^ I added my own drawing of her. You can find the bigger version here.
