In fact, Bahrain was the global launch customer for the type, ordering 16 new-build jets in 2018. With the advanced APG-83 AESA radar, the Viper Shield EW suite, an updated cockpit, and structural upgrades that extend airframe life to 12,000 hours, it is arguably the most capable F-16 variant ever produced. Bahrain is also upgrading its existing fleet of 20 older F-16C/Ds to the same V configuration.
