Washington Cemetery This predominately Jewish cemetery, which dates from 1850, is to be found in the Mapleton section of Brooklyn. This is where Bay Parkway and McDonald Avenue cross one another; MTA’s F-line runs atop the latter street on its way to Coney Island. One image by Richard Koenig; taken in the spring of 1982.

i love new york city, for so many reasons. today's reason is riding on the subway, seeing one YA/college age girl approach another because she saw the book sticking out of her bag, the second YA/college girl gave her her phone to exchange contact info & now they're riding the subway across from me discussing which book in the series is each favorite, their thoughts on the most recent book ending, etc.
