Hello again, as we said, thanks to your feedback we have reworked the event a little bit - we hope the changes are what you expected. As this is published, the old masterpost will be made private to avoid confusion.

So, welcome to Kinktober & Flufftober 2.0! We hope you find it improved.

Changelog: ★ What was formerly the "Squick-y clean" list has now been merged with the main list. ★ The AO3 collections are now two, one for Kinktober and one for Flufftober + a bonus collection ;) ★ As you are getting the lists earlier, you can start posting your works in the collection as soon as you want. The collections, however, will stay unrevealed until October 1st. ★ Anonymity is NOT mandatory, but archive-locking the works IS. ★ The collections are now moderated, so your works will have to be approved by the mods - this will take a little time, so be patient! ★ New rules will be found in the rules section.

WHEN? You can start posting your works to the respective collection as soon as you are finished HERE ON AO3, but they will be revealed on October 1st. Of course, you can just start posting in October, day by day. WHO? Kinktober2023 is open to all kinds of creators: writers, artists, gif-makers and so on and so forth. HERE is a little guide on how to post images on AO3 via Discord, by the way. HOW? There are two tables: a kinky ones and a fluffier one, for a total of 121 prompts. ★ MAIN LIST: Three prompts per day + a free day, which means 90 prompts a day! You can choose only one column, pick and choose what inspires you for what day, or even combine prompts. ★ FLUFFTOBER LIST: 31 prompts for every day of the month. For both Kinktober and Flufftober, you can choose not to complete the whole list and write only for certain days. We also issue you a little ★ BONUS CHALLENGE ★: try to mix and match the prompts for Flufftober with any of the prompts of Kinkmeme or Kinktober!

We accept works with: ★ All drivers from any era of Formula One ★ Driver pairings with a driver from another motorsports category (WEC, WRC, MotoGp, Formula E, Indy, Nascar and so on and so forth). ★ Team principals, managers, race engineers, mechanics (with or without a driver).

We do not accept: ★ Works with WAGs ★ Driver/Reader

You must tag your fics correctly, both here and on AO3.

ARCHIVE LOCKING YOUR WORKS IS MANDATORY.

Avoid graphic depictions of gore, torture, non-con and other matters that you consider potentially triggering in your summary.

These rules are valid for every one of the lists. As the collections are now more strictly moderated, the works that break the rules will not be approved - we will try to devise a way to contact the creators if this is the case, so that they can make the opportune corrections.

Also, we ask you to consider putting in the author's notes

A disclaimer on your work, whether in the notes or the summary, clarifying that it is a work of fiction and not intended to be interacted with by the people depicted.

A notice in your work asking not to share it on mainstream social media (Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram), where social media teams or the drivers themselves can come across it.

Again, these are not mandatory - we leave it up to you.

We know this is neither a foolproof way to keep things from spilling out to mainstream media and reaching the drivers' eyes nor a foolproof way to cover our asses, since we are basically working on the honour system, but it is the best that we all can do. Let's keep our RPF in our corner of the fandom.

F1 Flufftober - Day 25 Love Letters

Please don't judge me for doing these out of order lol (thanks @arturleclerc and @danielverstappen for the little push) (edit to say that this is also the same universe as this and this as well)

Max dragged himself into the entryway, allowing the front door to snap closed behind him. He left his luggage by the door, he would get to it later.

The cats wandered forward, welcoming him home from his long time away. He'd been out on a triple header and was glad to be home. He wanted to throw himself on the couch and stroke his cats and get forehead kisses from his boyfriend.

Who wasn't home.

Right.

Max grumbled to himself, standing with Jimmy in his arms and walking further into their home. He was tired and Daniel wasn't home because he was back at the factory. He'd be back in a few days because this was an unfortunate overlap of their travel schedules while Daniel was back off the grid. 

Stupid metacarpal, who needed those bones anyway??

Throwing himself on the couch as initially planned Max's brow furrowed as he heard the crinkle of paper beneath his head. Shifting quickly, he spied a square of yellow paper – a post it note. Odd.

Grabbing the out of place stationary, he recognized Daniel's looping handwriting.

You amaze me every day.

Max smiled softly, rereading the words and imprinting them on his brain. He reached over to stick it on the coffee table, fully intending to take it into the bedroom and preserve it in some way. He stopped short when he saw another sticky note attached to his controller.

Never forget how special you are.

Max tucked his head to his neck, feeling the blush bloom on his cheeks. He took a picture of both and texted them off to Daniel with a message that he was home.

Daniel

Oh, you haven't found them all😸

Max paused…all? He stood quickly from the couch and gave the living, dining and kitchen areas a glance over and noticed at least two more sticky notes. 

He would never admit to how quickly he rushed over to grab both notes. Not on Jimmy or Sassy's life. But his stomach swooped, eyes roving over the messages.

Never forget how proud of you I am

Max walked dazedly into their bedroom, collecting a few more notes of love, respect and adoration from Daniel. He felt overwhelmed with love for his boyfriend. Wanting nothing more than to lay on top of him and kiss him soundly.

But he couldn't. Because Daniel wasn't here. 

So instead, he padded to his sim room and plopped ungainly into the chair. There was one last note– he combed the flat and found no more. And his heart flipped, wondering just what else he would find.

He was completely overflowing with affection for Daniel. And he currently didn't have an outlet for it. He'd texted again but Daniel was back in the sim so he wouldn't be getting an answer any time soon. 

Grabbing the last note that was hanging innocently from his overhead screen, Max let out a choked laugh. 

The kind that happened when Daniel said something unexpected in their old PR videos. The kind that cracks his face open in joy. Max folded over, his boisterous laugh calling the cats in curiously. 

Max truly loved his boyfriend. He loved that man with his whole being and he couldn't wait for him to get home.

hi can i ask what's the specific reason for all the fics needing to be archive locked since ive never locked my fics before ☺️

First of all: have you not read the rules? The masterpost has been up for 20 days at least, and the archive-lock rule has always been in it and you're noticing just now - does this mean that many of you have reblogged and commented without reading the rules? Not only that, but we already said it in THIS POST we made on August 18th.

Now, this is what we have written in the masterpost:

We know this is neither a foolproof way to keep things from spilling out to mainstream media and reaching the drivers' eyes nor a foolproof way to cover our asses, since we are basically working on the honour system, but it is the best that we all can do. Let's keep our RPF in our corner of the fandom.

As you know we have always been open to feedback, and have been willing to rework events when our community has made us notice that we were in the wrong, but this is something we are going to stand firm on.

Lately we have had: 1. Dax Shepard showing Daniel Ricciardo what's basically self-published, self-insert erotic fanfic about him. Marked, apparently. [HERE and HERE] 2. Richard Siken, a pretty popular poet, indulging F1twt and speaking about RPF on a platform where said people and their PR teams can see it. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and that's not all of it - his replies have a lot of RPF discussion. Seriously.] Like, we know that drivers like Charles and Lewis like to like fans' posts from time to time. They are going to see that. 3. People talking about Everything Changes, the infamouslly long Martian fanfic, on TikTok - another platform where these people and their PR teams are on. [HERE and HERE] 4. Official F1 media, like F1 instagram, using ship names when talking about a pair of drivers. 5. The infamous booktok hockey incident - an incident that was mostly the fault of the Kraken's PR team, because, again, they are lurking on social media and seeing all of this.

This is not only for our protection as in not getting sued or whatever, this is because we believe that FANDOM SHOULD STAY IN FANDOM SPACES, AWAY FROM THE PEOPLE INVOLVED be it the athletes/musicians/actors we are writing or drawing RPF about, but also away from authors and showrunners and show-writers' eyes in case of fiction.

This is to stop curious PR people from checking our stuff out because they saw it on Twitter/X or Tiktok or other mainstream socmed. This is to avoid our work being shared where it should not be shared. We don't know if any of you were in the One Direction fandom but we think many remember what happened when Larry was brought to the attention of the people involved. Late night show hosts have shown, in the past, fanart and fanfic to their guests. Youtubers find RPF fanfic about them all the time.

Now, these people might as well be lurking on Tumblr and AO3, and that nothing is really stopping these people from making an AO3 account and seeing this shit - we are not saying it's impossible, but still we should take measures to keep it away from them.

And since there seems to be a lack of common sense and respect of boundaries in the fandom, yes, we think archive locking the works is necessary. It's the barest layer of protection of our fandom. It's a matter of fandom etiquette.
