After a period of slumber, a new Kinkmeme Round starts, with a little change to the rules.

Many of you asked to have more control on being anonymous: right now the only options are either removing the fic from the kinkmeme collection or asking us to deanon it.

The Round Three collection won't be anonymous anymore, but still we ask you to at least publish anonymously by adding your fic to the Anonymous collection on AO3, to keep with the spirit of the kinkmeme before de-anoning - but it is up to you, of course!

The old rounds, however, will stay as they are at least for now, as removing anonymous from the collection means de-anoning everyone, people who want to stay anonymous included. So, for now, if you want to claim a fill from previous rounds, you still have to shoot us a DM until we fin a solution

Can WAGs be mentioned or used in a fic but not endgame or should I just completely replace them with another character? For a prompt involving a breakup.

hi anon, you must not add wags to your works. if it's to fit the plot, you can add a original character, but the rule remains: no wags. If it's a brief mention, it's fine. If the wag is part of the main plot, you should review it.

this might be a silly question but idk i’m unfamiliar with, like, kinkmeme etiquette. if there’s a prompt that i like and that gets gears turning in my mind factory but doesn’t adhere to something the prompt specifically requested (smut im talking about smut idk how to write sex let alone HEAT sex) would i still claim the prompt or would i……not?

apologies if that’s a silly question i was just perusing the prompts to get brainstorming LOL

Do the Round 3 rules apply retroactively? That is, is it okay to continue filling prompts from Round 1 or Round 2 involving WAGs or athletes from outside of motorsports?

Hi, sorry for the late reply! The no WAGs rules were in the first two rounds too, so they still apply. The no athletes from outside motorsports was in place for Round 2 but not Round 1.

Hey, just wanted to clarify. I saw the rule “as long as at least one driver is an f1 driver, you can prompt pairings with drivers from other Motorsport categories or from other sports.” But there is also the rule “no prompts with athletes that are not in motorsports.” So I wanted to know, can I prompt a pairing where one person is an f1 driver and the other is from another sport (tennis in this case)? thank you very much.

Refer to the rules HERE, they have changed a bit during the various editions of the Kinkmeme. The answer is no, as specified in two of the rules: 1: NOT ALLOWED: Driver/Reader, prompts with WAGs, prompts with athletes that are not in motorsports or other celebrities.

And rule 3: As long as at least one half of the pairing is an F1 driver, you can prompt pairings (or threesomes etc etc) with drivers from other motorsport categories like Formula E, IndyCars, WEC etcetera. No pairings involving athletes from other sports are accepted, nor with celebrities.

If I am taking inspo from a prompt but not exactly following their details (I’m not like including one of their DNW’s, but not totally following how they presented their au) should I still claim and post it connected to the prompt or is that bad etiquette? At that point should I just post it on my own?

You can still claim it, but clarify in the notes what you just said here!

i didn't see the rule against wags until i'd already written six thousand words! does that mean i shouldn't submit to the collection at all? i could maybe just link to the prompt unofficially without 'properly' claiming a prompt and filling it? or how strict is the rule?

If the WAG is just mentioned, it should be okay. However, if she's an integral part of the plot, do as you said and fill the prompt "unofficially" :)

Sorry to be a bother (and a snitch I suppose), but I've looked through the new prompts for the third round and was a bit surprised to see a WAG/driver one. I thought the rules said not to prompt those?
