Parker wasn’t sure how many times of them going out would make Parker more open to dating, but he was pretty sure he was getting closer and closer the more they hung out. If it weren’t for his drinking, and Ryan’s hatred for it, he was almost positive he would be more open to letting someone in emotionally than he was now. But he still drank, quite a lot actually, even if he’s been trying hard not to get drunk every single day, and failing most of the time, because Ryan seemed to like him best when he was sober, or at least sober in Parker’s eyes. That wasn’t to say Ryan was the sole reason for Parker wanting to not drink so much, but his friend, who Parker liked a lot, made him realize this wasn’t the life Parker wanted to live for much longer. He wouldn’t admit it, not yet at least, but Parker was grateful for Ryan.
Going to the movies wasn’t something Parker did that often, or at all, but he did a lot of things with Ryan he rarely did and he enjoyed everything so he figured it would be fun enough. Ryan letting him play with his hair was absolutely a plus, too. Even if Parker would be even happier to get on his knees for him in the movie theater. That was probably out of the question.
“Hey, man,” Parker said once the two of them had their tickets to the movie and they had a few minutes to spare before it started. “Want any popcorn or somethin’? I don’t know what the fuck people usually get at these things,” he added, leaning slightly onto Ryan as he looked over the menu. Who knew there was so much food to chose from at a movie theater.
