The F-35B bringing the vapor! Those fluffy wings ripping through the air on a high-speed pass never get old! 🔥✈️

Traverse City Air Show
This is the sixth in a series of seven posts of things I saw at the air show in Traverse City, Michigan.
As promised in the previous post, here are two shots I bagged of the Lockheed Martin F35B Lightning II (Marines).
As I understand it this jet can open hatches and ports (see second image) to deflect thrust so that it can effectively hover—as it did for a time over Grand Traverse Bay, West Arm, as a demonstration. In addition, I believe the plane has stealth and supersonic capabilities.
Two images by Richard Koenig; taken June 28th 2025.
A British F-35B Lightning II stealth fighter jet made an emergency landing at Kagoshima Airport after a mid-air mechanical alert during joint exercises with Japan and the U.S. The RAF jet, operating from HMS Prince of Wales, landed safely but caused a 20-minute airport closure, delaying six flights.
The F-35B of VX-23 with the special Kaga emblem on the vertical tail, Bu.No . "168717" seems to be the same aircraft that landed on the Italian Navy aircraft carrier "Cavour" in 2021 (also with the special emblem). ( ※ Image reproduced from Wikipedia)
