i was re watching ep2 and this scene gave me goosebumps

the way he says “or you can give in” is so soft and i interpret this two way

number one is the obvious, because he doesn’t want other people hearing, but there is more too it than just that

this is also him essentially asking her to please just accept because he doesn’t want to do this to her but he feels like he has no other choice

he can’t be ‘weak’

he’s reminding her that there is another way out and he’s saying it so gently because that’s what he wants her to do

he doesn’t want to actually see her get hurt

in his mind he can not lose this battle of wills, one of them has to give and it can’t be him. especially now that his mum has seen them
