by the way, i think it is a huge disrespect for jane's character to have her brush off every mistake mike has made with her, every time she still felt like a monster beside him. to have her just accept his shitty behavior and paint it as understanding when it was clearly the opposite. to portray their relationship full of misunderstandings and secrecy for two seasons and then just have her not think about it anymore. and please don't take this the wrong way because i ship byler, this has nothing to do with mike. it's about how they took away jane's friendships with women (max!) and had her last scene with someone be with the "hero of the story, the nerd who was chosen by this wonderful girl from another world," the self insert of the failures of the men who wrote this. how cruel to deny her a normal life at the end of this- and YES i know it's to parallel season one, but frankly they have been trying too hard to do that this season and it has fallen flat every time. it feels fake and nostalgia baity (it is!)
