Fable Diner
It was my birthday week that day and one of close friend decided to take me out for dinner. Thank you my love! It was not our plan to eat here. We were just walking around East Broadway and passed by this Canadian diner. He checked the menu and thinks it is worth a try. I was really impressed when we went inside. The place is very fancy and modern diner. The diner was also busy that time but lucky that we got a good seat immediately. When our server found out that it was our first time to the diner, she explained a lot about their food and which one is good. She was actually a sweetheart.
For our first fancy diner food, we ordered the korean Chicken Leg. Kimchi fried rice on the bottom of the chicken leg, bok choy, tamarind and gochujang (hot pepper paste). The presentation of the food doesn’t even look like a diner food. The chicken was soft and juicy with a touch of sweet/spicy flavor. The fried rice was packed with kimchi flavor and the bok choy they tossed it with some vinaigrette dressing to complete the dish.
My friend wants to try their burger and ordered Reno Burger. Grass fed beef patty, pickles and tomato soup on the side. This was the most simple burger I have ever tried. Nothing much inside the burger but it was delicious because the flavourful patty itself is enough for this burger. Now for the tomato soup, If only I can ask for another bowl of it I probably did already. It was so creamy, delicious and with a hint of cheese. Yum!
The server recommend to try their milkshake. Chocolate Peanut Butter Milkshake with Nutella Whip and topped with pretzels. It was one of the most perfect milkshake I have ever tasted. We actually fell in love with the Nutella whip that we actually eating it like an ice cream. Next time I won’t be sharing.
